Thinking of trading 15k HGVC points for Vancouver next July? Exchange advice please?

We are going to Vancouver early July for three weeks. We have 15k (30k if we roll in next year) HGVC points, not locked to any weeks, annually. We own on Big Island, Hawaii.

What’s the best way for us to exchange? Only ever booked via HGVC or RCI before.

Classic English people, very reserved. Terrified to not form an orderly queue and book 355days 23days out like usual! 😛🤣😇

Looks like there's only a handful of timeshares in Vancouver which will make exchanging tough.

If you haven't, setup an ongoing search request with RCI but I won't count on it.

There's also a facebook group that was created by tug member cd5 for direct exchanges between Embarc and HGVC owners.

NOTE: Vancouver hotels will be pricey during peak cruise season (see screen capture from US News).

Good Luck

The worldmark has nice timeshare in Vancouver. Maybe you could find an owner with lots of points to rent it out for you

I own WM and a lot of Vancouver is already booked it would have to be waitlisted. They have I think (I’m not at home) they have about 44 units. Half are one bedroom and the other half are 2 bedroom. Comes with free parking and is a great location. Next year Vancouver is partial host to the soccer World Cup and they have an international fireworks competition the last 2 weeks of July. Very busy time.

There are 1 BR available in both VI (VI at Robson) and WM (the Canadian) starting July 8 through the end of the month.
Both systems deposit weeks into both II and RCI. WM tends to deposit off season weeks. VI is more likely to deposit a summer week, and tends to deposit more 1 BR than 2 so you are more likely to get 3 weeks in VI vs WM.
Getting 3 weeks via exchange in Vancouver in July would be difficult and worthy of top dog in the great exchanges thread.
If you are ok with a 1 BR (1 bed, no sofa sleeper so 2 people max at the WM. VI has king + Q or F ss), your best bet is to work an exchange or rent from another tugger.
I own in both, but have only stayed at the WM. WM owns some units in a high-rise building of condos. They are small, but have a washer dryer and full kitchen. Parking underground and great location downtown.
VI at Rosedale on Robson is also downtown and also owns some units in high-rise. Coin laundry, almost full kitchen with under counter refrigerator and 2 burners but no oven. parking in a lot.
