Well, if you consider that cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year in the U.S.,* what's 154,000 from COVID (some of whom might've died from smoking, anyway). <sarcasm>

Not only COVID deaths, but the ripple effect, and the public's response to COVID, will negatively affect consumer behavior for a long time to come. IMHO, the go-go days of consumerism is in the ICU (to make an analogy), and won't return for a generation or more.
