Super Bowl 50 - Who ya got for this one??

I've been able to watch both teams play quite a bit this year, and I frankly don't even see how the Broncos keep it close. The Broncos defense might keep it a low-scoring game, but I see this as a convincing win for the Panthers in the end.

The good news for Broncos fans is that I've been wrong with a few my predictions in the past. :)

Meanwhile the Six Nations starts this weekend. Think American Football but without the protective equipment, endless stop/starts and spandex.

Rugby......a real man's sport ;)

From a friend's post on Facebook today:

Official (very specific) Super Bowl Prediction

Both teams will struggle to score throughout most of the game, but the Panthers will go up early with a field goal. Near the end of the fourth quarter, the Denver defense will come up with a clutch turnover as Carolina is about to score which would all but seal the game. Manning will lead the Broncos in a last minute drive down the field to put them in position for a game winning McManus field goal as time expires. Final score: 13-12.

Von Miller will be the Super Bowl MVP with 5 sacks, a forced fumble and an interception. At the post-game press conference, Manning will announce his retirement from the NFL and the beginning of his campaign for President of the United States as an independent. In November, Manning will win in a landslide over Trump and Sanders.

His first act as president will be signing into law Universal Pizza Delivery by Papa Johns. Near the end of his second term, he will deliver the first Papa Johns' pizza to the colonists on the moon using the newly completed fusion powered star ship "Archie-1." The sight of Manning's forehead visible with the naked eye from earth is so awe inspiring that people everywhere lay down their arms and begin a 500 year period of peace known as that Pax Paytonica that ends when Zombie Belichick leads the uprising that ultimately destroys the human race.

I think it is possible... :D

Love it ^^^!

Situated here in football no-man's-land midway both geographically and in fandom between Denverland and Seattleland, and being a Seahawks fan, my heart is with Denver, but my head says it's going to be Carolina's game.

I have Denver +6 for my first $5 bet. I will be adding crazy high payoff bets to this as it gets closer.

Did I hear correctly there are only two fans left who have attended every super bowl? I have watched every game on TV but never been to the big game! But that's nothing like having been there for each game.

Panthers of course!

It's just gotta be "my" Carolina Panthers! I've been a fan since their conception. Attended a lot of games in Charlotte in earlier years.

Panthers

Cam will scramble the edges forcing Denver D to pursue him, and suddenly he will toss it over to to Corey Brown for a TD. This will happen twice :)

end score 31-17 Carolina

first half 17-7

go Panthers

I saw on Today show, a segment on 5 New Yorker friends who have attended every superbowl. One of them mentioned the NFL sets aside tickets for them every year now...gee if it was that easy to get tickets.:D

A late nite talk show had their own puppy bowl, and the majority of pups went to the Denver bowl. I'm a Seahawk fan and strange as it sounds to me, am rooting for Denver. I'd like Manning to go out (retire) with a Super bowl win. Isn't that part of the reason why he's still playing?

I've heard that there's this big event in the sporting fandom this weekend. Apparently, there is lots of cosplaying that will surround this televised event, but the tickets to the con are outrageous. ;)

Those five Super Bowl friends looks they could have played for the Green Bay Packer offensive line.

Santa Clara winner

My hope is city I grew up in (Santa Clara) will win by finally being recognized.
We've always had the Santa Clara Broncos and our famous swimmers, great little league teams, pony,Colt, and Connie Mack baseball teams and a few pro athletes from here. The problem is we were always recognized as near San Jose or San Francisco. Yes, San Jose is next store and San Francisco is 40 miles away.
Hopefully after this Super Bowl will not come back. The NFL is controlling everything such as street closures, businesses that were told about all the people can't do business because the streets are closed, traffic is even more a nightmare then usual and all the events besides the game itself are in San Francisco which means the money not flowing to Santa Clara.

I hope Carolina wins by a wide margin. They are the better team.

...
Interesting. Last year we were told that there were just three fans who attended every Superbowl (down from four due to a recent death). This year there are articles claiming that there are sixteen.

This reminds me somewhat of the Ice Bowl (the super frigid NFC championship game between Dallas and Green Bay- game time temperature minus 15 and dropping). There are about 200,000 Wisconsinites who claim to be at the game. Poor Lambeau Field trying to fit all those fans in.

I wonder how they verify these claims?

My Australian friends, who are Packers fans, will be watching the big game. Haven't figured out what time of the day it airs there yet.

Didn't watch the game two weeks ago, but have recovered enough from three weeks ago to half-heartedly root for Carolina. I believe they will win, but I am far from an expert.

Still a good afternoon/evenings' entertainment.

I've just been told I can watch all the pre game activities and the Super Bowl I want, but at 9 pm I give up the remote for Downtown Abbey! I guess I'll be watching the second half on the little 24" Samsung in my office.

Those Super Bowl Instant Replays You'll Love Run Off Intel's Tech - by Dean Takahashi/ CBS/ Inte/ Replay/ VB/ venturebeat.com

"Super Bowl 50 is going to go down as one of the most technologically advanced sporting events in history, and part of that is thanks to a new EyeVision instant replay technology that CBS is going to tout in its broadcast of the big football game on Sunday.

The Super Bowl is a testbed for technologies from companies like Comcast and Intel, who want to transform the sports viewing experience inside the stadium and on TV. And it is part of a larger movement to marry ubiquitous cameras, real-time analytics, and broad Internet access in order to capture sports performances as never before. The information gained can then be used to improve the skills of the athletes as well as for the enhanced enjoyment of the fans. Intel, in particularly, has made the transformation of sports into one of its strategic initiatives..."
