@Passepartout had started a wonderful thread “Simple Pleasures” and unfortunately it ended up going in a direction that was not its intent.

So I am starting this thread to attempt the great idea again.

Please let this thread be for those of us who want to have and keep our moment of happiness. You have lots of other threads to debate.

Today I went for a drive. I felt free and happy just driving. The trees were beautiful and the drive put me in a great mood. I noticed so many things I never noticed.

Then I came home and made myself my banana cherry chocolate frozen dessert with my Yonana machine. It hit the spot, Yummy. Lots of smiling today.

This just happened to me about 20 minutes ago. I caught the person breaking into our cabin on my trail cams. Made my day !!!

Our son calls most days and did even before this. Talking to him, his wife and our 3 and 8 year old granddaughters was always something we enjoyed but has now come to mean even more to us.

I've got two things that I posted on different threads here.

1. Trying new restaurants through take out.
2. Having a private Happy Hour with my daughter of left over chips and guacamole (from one of our take out dinners) and some good wine.

Holding my two week old granddaughter! We'd seen her from across the room earlier, but after 2 weeks of her parents and us all staying home for isolation, we felt comfortable enough to be together at Easter. It was wonderful to spend the time marveling at her - and, of course, seeing her mom and dad too.

Seeing my extended family - sibling, nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews in a Zoom conversation - it was nice to catch up with them all.

The flowering pear trees (white) and flowering plums (pink) are all in bloom here, and with daffodils and multi-colored tulips it makes my walks with Mr. Bear very pleasant. I little cool today, but this too will pass. I may have to take a drive while our local Shoshone Falls is at full flow. Spring is a great time in Southern Idaho. Please stay away for a while.

A mimosa. Looking at the nature outside of my windows. Petting my cat. Kissing my dogs. Having my DH home all day. Pretending the world is still normal. Sleeping so I forget the world is not normal. Talking on the phone to my family members. Texting with friends. I could go on and on about all the simple pleasures. There are still so many.

Yummy, this is such an enticing photo. I wish I knew how to make it!

It is so easy. It tastes like premium ice cream to me. For a treat you can put in a cone. The Yonana is not expensive. My recipe is one frozen banana, 5 frozen cherries and a very small square piece of chocolate. You turn the machine on, put the fruit/chocolate in, out it comes, you mix it together. YUMMY

Simple things that make me happy ----

DD, SIL, and DG (6-yrs old) live in north San Diego County. We live in King County, Washington. DW is a school teacher and has been doing on line teaching, but her school is on spring break this week. So yesterday and today, she has been doing on-line "tutoring" with DG, sometimes with a friend of DG. I wander upstairs from my home office when I take a work break, and I see them on-line, and I see DW with that little smile on her face that I know means that she is supremely happy.

Today I took a work break while they were on Zoom meeting, and I sat there as DG read a Winnie-the-Pooh book to us, holding it up to show us the pictures as she moved from page to page. When DG was done I told her that I remember reading that very same book to her Mommy when her Mommy was her age.

It makes me happy to hear that you are happy to have your husband home with you all day. There are many bad jokes on that topic, so I'm guessing not all couples feel that way.

Enjoying the 2 flower arrangements that I made. Our Costco has all departments open, so I grabbed some Stargazer lilies and a bunch of roses on my way to the checkout. A week later and they are still beautiful and making me happy every time I look at them. Remember that we still have snow on the ground here and any colour other than white is a long way off!

Enjoying some quiet time with Rick. We watch shows together in the morning between chores and closet cleaning. We watch movies and prime TV shows in the evening (but my stepdad joins us for that). Cooking dinner has been kind of fun together.

Sure missing my five grandkids, however. Bella doesn't know the meaning of holding still for a video chat. She turns 3 next month. I used to spend a lot of time with my 5-year-old granddaughter, but she is another one that won't do video chats. The older kids, it's like pulling teeth to get them to say anything. The baby has been quite entertaining with his crawling and pulling himself up to a stand. I get videos of those activities.
