I am not sure about that. The motion sense overhead light has a button for on and off. I've pushed it off and the lights still came on the next time through the bathroom. I may check it to see if there is another way to turn that function off.
All I know is the undercabinet lights in the shower area and toilet room lit up at night when you entered, but the overhead lights did not. You may want to ask management or maintenance. I'd be pissed (pun) if the overhead lights went on at 3am when someone walked through.

I am actually liking the automatic lighting in the bathrooms. I don't need to touch a switch. The lights, even overhead) come on automaricallly and then turn off after a couple minutes. I don't get up in the night very often. I can see this being an issue for others though. Especially since it is the entire bathroom light that comes on and not just the ones in the lower cabinets.

As for the shower, it is annoying. The one we have doesn't have any place inside the shower to sit anything. So if you bring your own shampoo or soap, there is no small shelf to put it on. It needs a bar and a shower seat too.
.
We drove the Palms to Pines Biway for the first time in our four years coming here and really enjoyed it.
Jeremy, I liked the motion controlled lights near the floor in the bedroom to be nice. In fact, I ended up buying a bunch of them on either Amazon or Temu. They're inexpensive and work well.
I agree with your assessment that they need a shelf in the shower. I still dislike having to use the bulk containers in the shower. But it seems like it is something that is sweeping a number of the hotels and timeshares.

We generally don't use the bulk dispensers. We either pack our own stuff or when traveling long enough buy our own. There is absolutely no place in the shower to put a bar of soap. The lack of a shower seat may also be a pain for those who want to shave their legs. The shower, while large, is very lacking.

I thought I had figured out the solution, but after testing it, it didn't work. The overhead lights still come on when entering the bathroom. I texted the front desk to ask if there was a way to disable this and they said they could send someone from engineering. I am not that inclined to be bothered with having to have someone stop by. It seems though that if one wants it disabled, engineering can do it. Perhaps that is why the lights in your villa didn't turn on automatically? Perhaps a prior guest had someone come by to disable it.

I found them to be very random. At one point I had it to where they wouldn't come on at all. I just found no rhyme or reason to it so painter's tape it was.

That may be it. We liked the way our room worked. Overlight lights controlled by regular switches. Auto on/off under-cabinets. Hopefully we find out more with additional guest stays.

I've noticed that the automatic switch in the shower room can easily be covered by a hand towel hanging from the rack above the switch. Perhaps this is why it seemed random for you? If that switch is blocked by a hand towel, the light won't turn on when you walk in. If there is no towel there, it will turn on.

I used the hand towel for precisely that when I was there. No towel rack in the other room near the switch so painter’s tape to the rescue. In the mornings, I would peel the tape back to allow the lights to function. Before bed, I would stick it back on.

I think they may also be behind schedule for renovation. According to the HUB, the following buildings were going to be renovated during these timeframes.

Building 2600 - Aug.22, 2024, through Sept.23, 2024
Building 3000 - Sept. 23, 2024, through Oct. 25, 2024
Building 2900 - Oct. 26, 2024 through Nov. 27 2024

I texted them to ask which buildings have had renovations completed and they said only 1000-1500 along with 2400 and 2500. I don't see anything happening with building 3000 right now and 2600 hasn't been completed. We wanted a renovated unit and also to be near the Roadrunner Pool. I think that is what it is called. I can't find the map and the online map still calls it the Serenity Pool. So that shut us out of anything from 2600 through 3000. Right now we have a bit of a hike to that pool from our building.
We just arrived yesterday and are in Building 3000. No construction going on in either this building or in Building 2900.
