Hope this helps anyone considering their options!
It might help but, as they say, here on TUG you are preaching to the choir. Many here on TUG have known all this about SMTN for years now. Just scroll through the many threads about this company. As well, check out TUG's sticky thread about how to sell a TS without getting scammed which is basically what you are repeating in your post.

More for people who are asking...I know most of us regular tuggers all know this. If someone who doesn't know reads it, I hope it helps. I think the desire to believe the timeshare is worth something often outweighs the advice not to do it, unfortunately.

Do not list or sell with SMTN. They simply take a listing fee. There is no way you can sell Abound Trust Points for $7-$10. They tell you that because it sounds a lot better than the $3 you can make selling them on Redweek.com. Why would someone pay $7 on SMTN when they can buy them for $3 on Redweek?
I so agree, plus they leave the listing up long after it has sold on another platform... I was looking at another week at my Naples TS and saw they had a week and unit # I wanted, reached out to them to make an offer and it took them 3 months to get a response from the owner that the unit had sold via another platform...

And combine that with the knowledge, or lack thereof, of what the TS is worth. Unfortunately, many owners who fall for the upfront fee resale/rental scam or who use SMTN's services are ignorant and unaware of what their TS is realistically worth. And that is another thing scammers use on these owners who fall for such scams.

I 100% agree! ....and for some its a lack of accepting the knowledge they read when it comes to the value. They would rather believe the upfront fee companies.
