Hi everyone,
As a current DVC owner, I recently attended a sales presentation at Club Wyndham Glacier Canyon in the Dells. While we had a great time and learned a lot about the program, we knew going in (thanks to some prior research on YouTube and TUG) that buying direct wasn't the right path for us. We're interested in adding 8-10 days of extra vacation time each year for our family, typically in 2-3 bedroom units booked 7-10 months in advance.

Club Wyndham seems like a good fit for our needs, and we're now exploring resale options. Our goal is to find the best agreements with the lowest maintenance fees. We understand that with a resale contract, we might miss out on perks like early check-in/check-out, but we're okay with that as we wouldn't be utilizing RCI or points for anything other than stays at Wyndham properties.

Any advice on navigating the resale market and finding those hidden gems would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your expertise and guidance.

I own two Glacier Canyon Club Wyndham a one bedroom with 154,000 and a 2 bedroom with 210,000.

I bought both resale after attending a presentation at GC.

Works great to get to Glacier Canyon and other resorts but my kids are not as interested in going there anymore. I’ve been to Atlanta and Austin using those points the last two years.

I have been on the fence of leaving Wyndham since I have HGVC and Vistana

If you want to own at Glacier Canyon I would be open to selling.

Message me if interested.

1) Look at the locations and points charts for the resorts where you might want to go in the season(s) you would go to determine how many points/year you will need.

2) eBay is a good source for resale deals. Patience is a virtue; a purchase now likely would not transfer in time to receive 2025 January Use Year points, so you have 6-8 months to find just the deal you want. Points are good at any resort within 10 months of arrival, so you can own at any resort. Grand Desert is a good choice for a purchase -- frequently listed on eBay with a wide selection of points ownerships at lower than average maintenance fees. Watch for one like this where the seller pays the closing and transfer costs. Even if the new owner does not receive the 2025 points, it is still a decent deal.

Perks like early check-in are mostly a fantasy.

We just did what you're planning on doing but we only added 89K pts, which gives us the ideal amount of vacation days. You need to buy a contract at a resort that has reasonable MF (maintenance fees). Here's a link to the historical chart on TUG that is maintained by a volunteer: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mRNaOwfYAl-E5b5GbVSTUwDrqcPelxYxPsNSYmvbX80/edit?gid=0#gid=0

We chose a resale contract on eBay for the Kona Hawaiian Resort b/c we wanted the 13 month ARP priority. It doesn't have the lowest MF but they are reasonable. Good luck in your journey.
