SEA ...............HAWKS

Many Super Bowl Half Time Shows kind of sucked so we agree on that. If Bad Bunny had sang the lyrics in English, some of it would have had to be censored as it describes graphic sex. There is no way in any language that saying something like "stick your pinky in her stinky" or something like that is appropriate for the Super Bowl, imo.

Green Day rocked it pretty good pre-game. I would have rather had Green Day as the half time show but really, to me it wouldn't matter either way. I watched to see the SEAHAWKS kick butt.

Bill
I like Green Day, and have seen them in concert several times, and was happy to see them in the pre-game. Unfortunately, their songwriting went downhill after Billy Joe got sober, at least in my opinion. Plus, Billy Joe has been pretty outspoken politically, and I am not sure he would have been that much less controversial.

I’m not a fan of football but look forward to the commercials, food, company
Hi Penny, im another non football fan too lol thars why i watch PuppyBowl evryear
Go Teams Ruff /Fluff.the best, cutest, enjoyable 3 hours of football i understand, and could watch over, over again, smiling, laughing with no politics involved. Just pawesome year, after year!!! 🤗🐶🐕🐅💜💙💖😍👍🙂🤗

Please remember a large segment of the USA Population speaks Spanish.
And this:
Spanish was the first European language spoken in the territory that is now the United States, pre-dating English by nearly a century.

So this thread was and still is, imo, all about the SEAHAWKS !!!! Champions !!! I was looking at this game to make up for Super Bowl 2015 and it did, imo.

The Patriots rallied toward the end but Seahawks did very well. There were a lot of field goals, which is due to the Patriots' good defense.

Rick and I had very little to do as newlyweds in the 1970's with jobs. We really couldn't afford much, and I didn't know football. Once Rick taught me the what the flags meant and what penalties were all about, I really got into it. We watched football every weekend. It was fun.

My aunt (who is 2.5 years older than me) was always a fan because my grandpa watched all weekend, college and pro games. She wrote letters to some of the players to ask for autographs and made it a hobby. She has some great items autographed by players, including newspapers with headlines of the games that she would mail and they would sign and send back. She loves Josh Allen (Buffalo) because he's from Wyoming. .

I think her collection would be worth something but it's very sentimental to her.

Green Day was such a great surprise! And I like how they updated the lyrics. American Idiot--both the album and the musical--is a brilliant work of art.

And I loved Bad Bunny's performance--it felt very organic and genuine in a way that most half-time shows aren't. That was a real couple that got married on stage! He gave the kid his Grammy! And the best dancing a half-time show has ever seen. Ricky Martin! Lady Gaga as a 40s Latin nightclub singer! There was a lot of joy and integrity in that show that really
came through.

It was a very American half-time show. :)

Meyers made history with five field goals. I was wondering if we were ever going to actually get a touch down, lol.

The Seahawk Kicker should have been the MVP. He set a record for Fieldgoals in a SuperBowl. He scored 17 of the 29 Seahawk Points. Paraphasing Winston Churchill. Never have so many been so thankful to so few for so much.

I really enjoyed the pregame show that was all about previous SuperBowl Commercials.

I'm glad Walker got MVP. He played really good, imo. To me it's a toss up because the Seahawks would have had a hard time winning without either, imo. Meyers was on last night for sure.

Lol, you probably watched a CFL game, not a NFL game. The only ever NFL team to play in Canada that I can remember was the Buffalo Bills who played one game per year against the Toronto Argos in 2008 through 2013.
I think what you mean to say is that the Buffalo Bills played one regular season game per year from 2008-2013 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. They played against NFL teams, not against the Toronto Argonauts.

There used to a CFL team in Baltimore.
...and Sacramento, Memphis, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Shreveport. The CFL tried this experiment in the mid-90s but only lasted a couple of seasons. The Baltimore team relocated to Montreal, QC and became the re-invented Montreal Alouettes.

That's the first time I heard that Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga were in the show. I wasn't at all crazy about Bad Bunny's performance, and even discussed with others how I liked the "secondary performers" performances far better, but I thought they were both just lesser-regarded Hispanic performers. Ricky Martin's looks have changed quite a bit in his middle-aged years! Which, of course, is not at all surprising.

And I read that the young boy was the 5 yo arrested and terrorized by ICE. THAT, in retrospect, was great, along with the electrical workers dangling from the power lines. So whoever put that non-musical stuff together, kudos.

Yes, sorry, I was confused. DH straightened me out on the games they played in Toronto. He said the Bills played 6 regular season games and 2 pre-season/exhibition games in Toronto. He and a work buddy went to one of the pre-season games one year. I think those games got the Bills a lot of new fans in the Toronto area.

That is a hot/viral story going around the interweb. That little boy was not the ICE victim, he is a child actor named Lincoln Fox. https://www.nbc.com/nbc-insider/who...e-grammy-halftime-show-super-bowl-lincoln-fox

~Diane
Interesting. But the actor IS 5 years old...so perhaps symbolic of the 5 yo's arrest? That's more than a coincidence. Perhaps they wanted the real "ICE victim", but he would have been unable to go as I just now read that the family is "sequestered" after the family was ordered to be released by a Texas judge (where they had been transported to a detention facility) and has now returned to Minnesota.

Both the "ICE victim" and the young actor have 2 syllable first names beginning with L: Liam (Ramos) and Lincoln. More coincidence?

I love me a good conspiracy theory. :)
