.

Im not getting why the singer is singing in Spanish. I thought that was Lady Gaga but was told no and yes. Idk.

Ok, Im officially too old, lol. Im sure that on my next trip to Mexico the soccer match will have Kiss for their game time entertainment.

I think the message is clear. The NFL believes that growth opportunities in English speaking North America are maxing out. To continue to maintain growth they need to expand into other markets, and Spanish-speaking Americas is a prime market.

That was vident at the end, with the parade of nations, including recognition of the US. To me, it seemed obvious that NFL had coordinated closely with Bad Bunny about the content of his performance.

I suppose they think it will bring in a different audience. Much of the same reason there was so much emphasis on Taylor Swift at NFL games and the Super Bowl a few years ago. You are no longer the demographic they are chasing.

Oh, is there a game on. Lol

I enjoyed the half time show, though I didn't know a single song.. the NFL is definitely trying to expand their audience, all the international games, now a show mostly in Spanish

I bet if it was Green Bay playing Seattle you might be a bit interested. Or was it the rain ,lol ?

It was a good game for me. I did 3/5 on $200 so Im up $120.

From my trips to Mexico I dont think Mexicans are interested in our version of football. From my trips to Canada i think Canadians like our football enough to have some NFL teams.

Bill

I like all styles of music. I like rock, rap, reggaeton (like the song Gasolina), etc., etc., etc. I even like ancient musical styles like this hauntingly beautiful "polyphony" from the Caucasus country of Georgia:

But Bad Bunny was just bad. His music was boring. It sounded bad. You don't have to understand lyrics to appreciate good sounding music. And that wasn't it.

Big cheers here in Belize when the Belize flag was spotted. Lots of the younger women at the bar where we watched the game were singing along as many speak Spanish even though English is the main language here.

Canada has no NFL teams, we have the CFL (Canadian Football League) and there are 9 teams, divided into two divisions: the West Division (5 teams) and the East Division (4 teams). Some of the rules are different in the CFL as well as the field size (110yd long compared to the NFL 100yd field). The CFL has 3 downs and 12 players, where the NFL has 4 downs and 11 players. A few players have played in both the CFL and NFL during their career, Joe Theismann, Warren Moon and Doug Flutie to name a few.

Go Arrrrgooos!! :cheer:

Your opinion, which you are entitled to. The man won how many Grammys? And has a huge fan base. You didn't like it fine, but I've read lots of posts who thought the half time show was wonderful.

Yes. I was looking forward to the performance because I had heard about those accolades. What a disappointment!

That's really the only time I watch the Super Bowl. Lol

We are still out of power here too. Going on 10 hours now. The wind has been crazy.

Maybe its the metric system that is the big difference. I havent watched a Nfl game in Canada for long time but it was fun.

Lol, you probably watched a CFL game, not a NFL game. The only ever NFL team to play in Canada that I can remember was the Buffalo Bills who played one game per year against the Toronto Argos in 2008 through 2013.

Pretty much everyone I know from Hawaii is a cheese head so you fit right in. 😀

I heard that some big rain event is heading to Maui. They really need some rain in West Maui. I saw pictures on fb of the Kapalua Golf Course all dried out.
