We are at Cypress Harbour this week and took the sales presentation at the MVCI headquarters. Very busy place at 8 am this morning. Sales person said last year was their best year ever.
We are already enrolled in the Destination points program and own 2 weeks that would give us about 5,800 points per year. They said since we were so close to premier level (6,500) points, they could offer us a purchase of 1,000 points which would get us to premier level. (Otherwise the minimum purchase is either 1,500 or 2,500 points.) Then all our points would be treated as trust points and have access to all Marriott's inventory plus we would have premier benefits. Cost would be about $11,000 plus $400 maintenance fees. Any comments on this deal?
Also finished with quick pitch for a week to use in the next 2 years for about $1,500 and some assurances price increases would be limited. This was done by Encore which I am not sure is part of Marriott but I think this moves Marriott more to the sleazy sales pitch side of the timeshare business. No high pressure and done quickly but still one of those "one more time offers that try to get you to buy something".
