I just read on the Royal Website the market next to the Captains Cove is part of the Royals (guess I glossed over this detail when we stayed last), does this market have a larger variety?

Captains Cove Market

It has less inventory than the Resort markets, but one thing it has that the resort markets don't are fast food meals. Slice of pizza and a drink, hot dogs and a drink etc etc for a couple of bucks.

Great thanks. Going again this next summer so I'm sure my kids will frequent this market when they catch wind it has fast food.

They'd have to either take the shuttle, which doesn't run as frequently as it used to, or walk down the hill, cross the highway, and then cross back and walk uphill.

They can get fast food at the Express takeout at the side of the Tradewinds restaurant at the RC, or just order anything from the pool and beach waiters. If they're young enough, the prices on the kids' menu are very good.

At VCI I almost always order lunch from the kids menu, and I am NOT a kid.

We've done that occasionally but feel kind of guilty about it.....have you had any negative or skeptical reactions?

Not once, PJ. I do it when I know I am also going out to dinner later. Waiters are fine with it, and my friends all think it is a good idea.

What's VCI?

I would think the market across the street would be a hassle, but you never know how desperate they could be for a slice of pizza.

The first Royal Resort, Vacation Club International. AKA Club Internaçional de Cancun, and recently renamed to the The Royal Cancun. The new name is a disaster, b/c there's a hotel called Royal Cancun (without the "The").

You can order pretty decent pizza delivered right to your villa, either from Dominos or from the Express. You'll see a card with the info on the pass-through counter between the kitchen and dining room. Free delivery, but of course a tip is appreciated :)

So let me get this straight, not only is there a market inside of the Islander there is one across the street? Or is the market that services the tri's the one across the street?
