Resales in Summer

Are resales normally slow in summer months on EBay, Redweek, etc? I’ve noticed less offerings and higher prices.
 
Which unit you are looking?
 
Was just looking into Westin’s and Hyatt’s. Not looking to buy but watching.
 
I think availability goes up and prices go down in October, November, December, because people have to pay maintenance fees. At least that's what I've noticed on ebay...
 
Also towards the end of the year one may run the risk of losing a free current year usage if the contract does not transfer on time so that may be a factor as well.

Depends on where you are looking. It wouldn’t surprise me if there are less because people have been actively being sold into giving their mandatory deeds back (not knowing anything about mandatory or voluntary, and do not know the value of the deed they own) to buy into the flex program. For years, I was told they wouldn’t give money for my property until now. I was offered 25K for my mandatory deed to buy flex. If I didn’t know better maybe I would have bit. It sounds great to have priority at 12 months at all Sheraton or Westin properties not just one, and still have the 8 month booking window.
 
I noticed that too. I am looking at an OF in Maui at either WKORV or WKORV-N. I am not sure if we should wait until all this Marriott stuff goes down or try to snag one before.
 
I was looking at a WDW Plat EY and was surprised it went for $1500. I was shocked because it is non-man.

Problem is with Marriott they like to restrict resales. Who knows if they put some restrictions on resale within a combination program? If that doesn’t matter to you then wait I guess.

I think you can do better. I'd stay on the sidelines until the price comes down. I've seen them for $1 in the past.

I bought my WKORVN OF just few months ago from eBay and an SVV Bella EOY from redweek. I found the price very reasonable. Just wait, these deals will show up near MF due date.

Were the prices for WKORVN OF EY approx $25k on eBay? That is the price in Redweek. WKORV are approx $32k, I am not sure why the price is so different.

A platinum would be nice to have but I can wait it out. I don’t need another TS but...

OF at WKORV has superior views vs. OF at WKORVN. Also, MF's are less for the premium units at WKORV (they are higher for the deluxe units there, but those are substantially larger).

Make sure you only look for WKORV OF Center. Otherwise your MF will be much higher than WKORVN OF.
