Resale use restrictions - Marriott various point systems

Are these points kept separate for purposes of booking? In other words, if someone did not have enough trust points to complete a reservation, could elected points be combined with the trust points to make the reservation?
No, they function as one unit. It's seamless to book online or on the phone. Each set of points is listed separately online so you can chose which points to use. You'll see a separate listing for each weeks election and expiration. In my case I might have 20 different lines with points totals and a listing of when the points expire. The online system will select the "best" points to use. It does so by deciding which points will expire first but it ignores the ability to bank the points so generally the preselected points are the ones you could later bank. The good news is MVC can later swap the points. To me it's generally better to just book and fix it later than try to micromanage which points I'm using when booking. That way I'm not wasting time while booking which can be critical for difficult to book options. I book then later email from the website and have them fix it on the back end. If you call they will normally ask you. If I'm booking things that are easy, I'll micromanage which points I use.

if someone did not have enough trust points to complete a reservation, could elected points be combined with the trust points to make the reservation?
Yes, you can use across the various pools of club points as long as they are all eligible for the reservation. Holding club points have a 60 day reservation window, Bonus club points can have a different expiry from Trust club points or enrolled club.

My husband and I attended a sales presentation today where the salesman told us that the inventory available to trust points was not the same as the inventory available through Abound points. He said the Abound points inventory included only the weeks that members had "elected" to convert to points, where the Trust inventory included the inventory that Marriott sells as points. I always thought that Abound and trust points were one and the same, which is what appears to be said in this thread. Which is correct?
Even if this were true (it is not in practice), the salesperson failed to note that generally the inventory in the trust is crap off season poor views, as compared to elected weeks. They forgot that part.

Always an element of truth coupled with a material omission. MVC Sales 101.
