Does it make sense to have both HGVC and RCI ownership for wider reach to resorts?

1.
HGVC properties may be higher level than many RCI properties. But RCI has many resorts. Correct?

2.
If the goal is more choices, can that be achieved by just HGVC to RCI selection or have RCI ownership. More ownership means more MFs.

3. Can the benefits of RCI be achieved by low MF facility and them buy RCI points at 1.x cents. Any inputs? Thx

It definitely makes sense for me to have both. I would pick which one I wanted most as a starting point. You can use either one to give you a taste of the other. I would not buy both to start off.

I would just advise against buying HGVC with a major purpose of the purchase being to trade in RCI.

Oversimplifying: HGVC is my one big nice family vacation a year. RCI Points is used for my long, local weekends and booking bargain weeks here and there.

What if you have good amount of HGVC points. Why not use those for your local RCI getaways?

Nothing wrong doing that if that is how you want to use them. I feel I get the most value from my HGVC points using them for HGVC stays.

If I was routinely going to use more than 2,000 to 3,000 HGVC points a year for RCI Exchanges, I would but an RCI trader to do that. I would not plan an HGVC purchase to use that many points doing RCI trades. If RCI was an every once in a while things (especially with a good 2BR Vegas Platinum HGVC Purchase), go for it! Just my opinion and experience.
