Thinking of getting into the system with a 5k account.

1) Do I get 1GC and 1 HKT each year and are they good for 2 years like the 5k credits?

2) if later on I decide to add more points and combine with it, to be say 20k account. When I need to divest, do I have two accounts or just one to sell?

Thanks.

1) Yes.

2) If you later purchase more resale points, you have the option of combining into one ownership or keeping them as separate ownerships. If combined, you would have only one ownership to sell.

Guest Certificates expire at the end of your year. If you buy another Worldmark Account you can choose to combine them at the time of purchase or you can keep them separate and have two Accounts. There are +/- with each choice. Keeping them separate gives you more Bonus Time Reservations and more Waiting Lists. Combining them gives you slightly lower Maintenance Fees.

HKT is valid for two years but GC is one year?

I am thinking about buying a 7,000 account, which would give us two weekends in Las Vega (primary airport), or 5 weeknights at any other destination. We mainly want Monday Madness and Inventory Specials, but figure 7,000 would be right on target for what we would use annually within the system.

yeah, a bit larger account has more flexibility. WorldMark is a great system without a great IT system, which is my biggest concern. You could also buy x2 credit a year, so a 5k account could also work for your current plan.

I just closed on 7,000 points for $360 off Ebay, with 7,000 rolling over for last year. Renewal is February, close to my Wyndham contracts. Seemed like a good deal!

Looks like a very flexible system with the prior year's points still available, the ability to borrow from next year, or buy x2 credits.

I've heard the transfer takes up to 6 months. When you say "closed", are you already in? How long did the transfer take? Agreed, $360 all in is a great price (if you count the points allready there, or sell them for cash, it's negative cost!)

Just the auction is closed, it will be 6 months before the timeshare fully transfers. We're staying at Holiday Inn Vacation Club with IHG points in Vegas at the end of October, so hopefully I'll have time to switch. There have been seven 7,000 contracts sold on Ebay within the last 90 days, from $505 from an unknown seller, $700 from tochoa25, on up. That includes closing costs, and none included any rollover points. The auction closed at 3:30 EST, so that may have benefitted us. I sniped it last minute.

Cool congrats. I want to get it to work with II other than a couple of WM resorts I like. I have heard it has excellent trading power and can pull anything not in preference, plus within flexchange (59 days in) it only costs 4000 credit for any room size.

I believe II exchanges wouldn't be worth it for us, but I am interested in the Getaway rates. This flexchange you're referring to sounds like a great option too.

II works great w/ our WM. We’ve done 2 flex exchanges into 2 bedroom Marriott’s (Cypress Harbour-Orlando over Memorial Day & Legend’s Edge-Panama City between Xmas/New Years). The 2nd one cost 3000 credits, so a total of 7000 credits/2 HKTs for 2 weeks in Marriott’s. We’ve also had great WM stays using credits & cash options...enjoy!!

Why's only 3000 credit for the second week? Curious do you pay HKT as a studio or as a 2-bed (when you are out of the free HKT).

Wyndham crack IT dept is my understanding. Several reports of it happening on WM owners and no one knows why. I haven’t had to pay for HKT as my understanding it is based on size you get, so ours would have been 2 bed fee.

Got it. Some people complained about not able to pay for HKT when they do “deposit first”, hope it’s not a problem when you do request first. Yeah crappy IT.

You’ve sold me. Is there usually a lot of good options for flex changes? Credits just get deposited into II and you can take whatever is available? If no hk token one just has to buy one?

Have you done any other exchanges than the flex ones?

Are flex exchanges available for resale owners, same as Getaways? This sounds like an incredible way to squeeze value out of your points, especially when used for a 2 bedroom Marriott property.

Yes. We also use Monday Madness, inventory specials, & fax time in addition to our resale credits for trips.

Just keep in mind, there may not always be 2 bedroom available where and when ou will like to go to within 60 days.

Beggers can't be choosers. I think this will fit in best when we've got a trip cancelled and we're open as to where we want to go, or maybe even leave a month open for a surprise trip destination.

BTW, did you buy a NHK account? Likely not but I’m curious if you can tell from the estoppel.

yeah, if you like surprise trips and can go anywhere anytime, 59 days is so wide that you can drive through a truck. I just searched for next 10 days, you could stay at Marriott Marbella Beach, Marriott Desert Springs, or Marriott Son Antem, all in 2-bed villas, and Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort in Hawaii in a studio. That will be my retirement life...

Is this interval you searched in for the next 10 days? Are those trips you can buy for cash rate or using points using flex change?

I have an II trader and I searched with it. Within 10 days, you should be able to book with 4000 WM credits - but I don't have it now (if someone can test it and let me know). Cash rate for marriotts are not cheap, usually $200-300 per night rate and the availability is different.
