We were in one down by the river. This was 2 years ago. You could look over the cliff and see the river. At that time it still had the homemade built in furniture in the living room. They were in the process of remodeling the units around us. It's very quiet down there. I have nno complaints about it due to the fact I booked a week via RCI rental for $299.00. And didn't have to use any points.
By now should be as nice as one on top of hill, bit not as nice as the true Wyndham units.

I suspect it is mostly a combination of A and C---and probably more A than C. Survey after survey shows that timeshare owners are generally a happy lot. Most of those people bought from the developer.

The resale market is reasonably opaque, and most owners have no idea how it really works.

To some degree Im a "ends justifies the means" guy

Im not going to condone lies but if they have to exaggerate a little to make a sale, well thats what they have to do, and if the buyer has the money why should I care.
Someone once told me that a requirement of being good at sales is that you have to have a personality disorder!

I don't think they're lying as much as having a 'distorted view'. Their bosses have coached / brainwashed them to have that distorted view and those bosses have an even more distorted view.

To go to work day after day and do that job they have to have the distortion. I think the good ones genuinely believe that what they are doing is helping humanity by leading us to the best recurring vacation options even if it 'hurts' when we have to part with our money.

While they can find 100+ creative ways to up-sell an owner on another contract, they are not empowered to do much else. I think resale is a completely 'blank space' in their world except that resale=bad.

There is good sales and there is bad salesmanship. One is a farmer and the other a hunter. Unfortunately, the in ethical hunters give sales a bad name.

It's just too bad there are so many hunters in the timeshare sales force.
