We are long time weeks owners, but this is the first year that we've rented our units (instead of using them). Over the past several weeks, I've received payment from two different folks that I've rented my units to. Upon payment, we called and had the reservation changed from my name to their name.
Marriott did so immediately, and sent me a copy of the reservation "in my renter's name"
Today, I called to change another one of my weeks and when they sent the reservation, it was still in my name....but "added" the renter's name (as a guest) to the reservation.
I immediately questioned this and was told that this was "standard procedure" and that the other Marriott reps were incorrect.
I was also told that if I wanted to speak to a supervisor, I could...but they will tell me the same.
As fate would have it, the rep spelled the name incorrectly, so this gave me an opportunity to call back, (to have the spelling corrected). After solving that problem, I re-asked the same question about the reservation and he, (a different rep) told me the same thing. No name change, only add a name.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Mike
