Puppies… again!

The puppies are 9 months old now and are doing things.

Our keeper girl Blitz finished her Field Championship today. She ran in her first trial 9 days ago. In 8 trials, she received 4 placements- two 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd. On Friday, she got first place in the Open (ie non Field Champion) Bitch stake and her mother got first place in the Field Champion Bitch stake. This earned them the opportunity to compete against the best open and field champion male dog, respectively. They each won and then competed against each other for Absolute, which is the field trial version of Best in Show. Puppy Blitz beat her mama to take Absolute that day!

So now she is Absolute Field Champion Briarwire’s Pants on Fire v Ruger. Her brother Gansey finished his Field Championship yesterday, and her brother Karl earned his first field points. Brother Bean is rocking his police dog training, his handler is very pleased with him. The fifth brother Bronco is living the pet dachshund life with a lovely family in Colorado.

When Blitz finished her FC this weekend, it qualified her father for a breeding accolade called Register of Merit Excellent- which means he has produced 10 champion (field, show or agility) and at least 2 Best in Show or Absolute winners. So our co breeders were super happy today!
