I suspect many banks can process credits/refunds to a debit card number that was cancelled. Just no new charges. Though sometimes merchants/Visa/Mastercard have processes setup to notify merchants when a card number changes. This sometimes even happens in the event a new card is issued for fraud or dispute.

Okay people! I am happy to announce that our fight is officially over with Fiesta Americana. We decided to trust Center Stone Group out in Nevada and they went through with their part in getting us out of this nightmare with Fiesta Americana. I just received the final document from PROFECO in Mexico giving the order that the contract is now cancelled. We were very skeptical and did a lot of research and read many reviews before we pulled the trigger. Everything went smooth! We did have to wait about 7 months but it was worth it.

Great news, but at what cost???

It was about $6,000.00. We believe it was worth it to get out of an almost $20,000 nightmare lol. I think just the piece of mind is really worth it!

Edit: Actually is a lot more than $20,000.00 when you add the annual $1,000 maintenance fees for LIFE (that they don't tell you about) that only is another $40,000 easily on top of the $20,000.00.

$6,000...? Really? Sounds like an exit Company that was paid up front.

I think you could have just walked away from a Mexican Timeshare obligation and saved yourself a whooping $6,000.

Cornerstone Group is most certainly an exit company. All they did was send a letter to the timeshare company saying "no more pay" and voila!

Probably we could have just stopped paying it and nothing would have happened but we did not want to take any chances. We value our credit history too much for something like this to damage it. We just don't have to think about this coming after us in the future.

True that is one the things that they try first but we did that on our own with no luck with Fiesta Americana. They had to create a hearing with PROFECO with both Fiesta Americana and the lawyer that they have in Mexico which kept informing me about the case. It is basically a mediation between Fiesta Americana and our lawyer where an agreement is entered between both parties at PROFECO. They did have to fight it because they wanted us to pay 50% of the remaining amount that was financed and our representative had to show evidence of all the lies and false representations and they had no other choice but to concede.

Anyway that is what worked for us and we are happy with our decision. Just giving you guys an update and for any future victims of this timeshare scam that there is hope!
