I understand everyone wants to have "life as usual"....But with COVID19;;;; ain't gonna happen for awhile....
So I'd like ask folks that choose to break laws and protesters to sign an agreement:::: "If I come down with Covid, Do not send me to a hospital or try to save my life in any way"
ps...This goes for beach goers and the like......And this comes from a Die-Hard Beacher...............Not trying to start arguments

Kind of on a different tact. Our governor has called for an extension of Stay at Home through May 15. A mayor in one town has said businesses in his town can open up, and urged other mayors to do the same. His comment "What's she going to do to me?" To him? Nothing. But any businesses that open up will be fined. Easy to shoot off your mouth when you're really not going to be affected.

Ok, I take it your are willing to sign a similar agreement that if you break any traffic law, such as speeding, rolling through a stop sign, changing lanes w/o signalling, etc., that in turn you give up your right to be treated if you are in an accident.

I see this argument all over Facebook and I find it really disturbing. Drunk drivers kill people , as an example. Yet they are still given medical treatment.

Being here i n MI, you may not be aware of this but several Count sheriffs fro counties with 0 or under 10 Covid-19 cases would NOT ticket or enforce any covid-19 infractions, Except criminal law breakers.

I'm talking NM not MI. There have been deaths in the county where this town lies. And the county right next to them has the most cases, and deaths, in the state. State police will be the ones to enforce this. Several businesses in the city have already said they do not plan to reopen. I'm sure the news tonight will have a report on this.

But my main point was, it's easy to be vocal and oppose something when you're not the one who has to pay for it.

How is it different? Please explain. Both are breaking laws, but you only want the protesters to not have access to medical care?

I will give the TIMESHARE version to this discussion ; since TUG is a timesahare forum .

As timeshare owners we understand that we want the resort to be available to us in future years
and that’s why we bought a fractional percent of a bigger whole .

IF the HOA had no rules - what would / could happen . The owner of week 36 in unit 246 decides to have
a “ beach bonfire “ in the kitchen area of the 2 bedroom lock off . Oh said the owner of week 36 - “ it’s my week “
- so what- if the owners of weeks 37- 52 can’t use unit 246 because of damages .

Some people in the world think like “the owner of week 36 “ / we all see them ( on vacation) when they claim chairs at 7am so they can use them at 11am - ( it’s “their right”to do so ).

*******
Anyway (IMO ) in Canada many people see their provincial healthcare system as a “ resort amenity “ that is paid for by their MF ( ie -taxes) and want to make sure that it is there for” all owners “ in the future .

And held liable for anyone they infect.

And, just for the sake of argument, how do you plan to track the chain of infection back to one individual without any doubt? That would be quite the task I would think.

FWIW...I view these protesters and rule-breakers as self-entitled whiners..

Waah..."I have to stay at home."
Waah..."I can't go out to eat."
Waah..."I can't go to my favorite bar.'
Waah..."I have to sleep in my own bed."
Waah..."I need my nails done."
Waah..."I can't see my family." (BTW, many people only see their families two holidays a year for a reason)
Waah..."I want to go to work." (Really? Oh this is a first.)
Waah..."There is nothing left to watch on Netflix."
Waah..."No one can tell me what to do."

Whine, Whine, Whine....

Suck it up. Besides it's not like you are stuck in a foxhole during WW I with the Spanish Flu.

In Virginia there are two (2) types of protesters -- those that want to open businesses sooner and those that want to close the Delmarva chicken processing plants where the coronvirus has infected many workers

I find it both sad & odd -
that as a society we have failed to protect our “ parents and our food supply “
{(ie) nursing - longterm care homes & meat processing plants .}

It says a lot about SILO thinking across the board. - from company managers to disease control specialists - it seems like few thought outside the box or ahead of the curve .

For sure. Thats the hard part. Obviously guilt is not enough to stop people from exposing themselves and infecting others,

Freedom is never free, there has always been a very high price pay like the Boston tea party, the pony express riders and the Pilgrims. They were usually a minority in there society and many times misunderstood. Thank God they didnt listen to the majority opinions of the naysayers and were willing to risk everything for what they believed.

¿What happened to our right to peaceably assemble?
Yeah, protestors are now law breakers? I always like posts that say, not trying to "start an argument" or "don't get political". Quite often those threads go down that path.

This is an argumentative and socially contentious post, if I ever saw one. This should be shut down. It is not helpful at all.

BTW, can you sign an agreement that if you ever make a mistake and need medical care, that you will refuse treatment and die? Hopefully you are perfect so you never need this.

If you have kids, would you make them sign this agreement?

"Not trying to start arguments." LOL

Tuggers never cease to amaze me.

Protesting is not against the law. So why would a protester sign your agreement?

But of course, we shouldn't have sent soldiers to fight WWI (or the NAZIs) because there was a chance those soldiers would die. Self entitled whiners back home sent all those kids to die. How come we didn't lock down the soldiers here during those wars?

And I hope you didn't drive, or fly on airplanes, or travel and go to timeshares before this all started, as you risked killing people each and every day. How dare you?
