Protesters & Law Breakers

FWIW...I view these protesters and rule-breakers as self-entitled whiners..

Waah..."I have to stay at home."
Waah..."I can't go out to eat."
Waah..."I can't go to my favorite bar.'
Waah..."I have to sleep in my own bed."
Waah..."I need my nails done."
Waah..."I can't see my family." (BTW, many people only see their families two holidays a year for a reason)
Waah..."I want to go to work." (Really? Oh this is a first.)
Waah..."There is nothing left to watch on Netflix."
Waah..."No one can tell me what to do."

Whine, Whine, Whine....

Suck it up. Besides it's not like you are stuck in a foxhole during WW I with the Spanish Flu.

I do not like whiners. But I do not view all protesters as whiners. This post seems out of character for you.

Imo, this thread sucks.

That is what I said. This thread should not be allowed. It was a contentious post to start. Then everyone on TUG jumped in to whine about things. It is a whining post. Whine, whine , whine about the protestors and rule breakers. Why do people hate the protestors so much? It is a right in this country to peacefully protest. Imagine if we called Martin Luther King a whiner.

Today there was a protest in downtown Palm Springs.
At first glance, I was against it.
But then I read a statement from the leader of the group -- a small business owner on the main street of town. To any one who has not visited this fair city, imagine several blocks of stores with square footage of under 600 sq.ft.
You don't see this very often any more as the 'downtown' areas of many towns can no longer sustain retail business.

He said: The BIG stores are open -- Target, Walmart, Costco. People are allowed in the stores while wearing masks. They may purchase any of the items for sale. Purchases are not limited to essential items. They make attempts to maintain the 6foot rule amongst hundreds of people. We are capable of doing that -- on a much smaller scale. We feel discriminated against because we have not been given the opportunity to keep our business operational while observing Covid-19 safety measures. Meanwhile, Big Business is thriving.

I have to say he has a point.

@TravelTime Perhaps I should clarify. I have nothing against peaceful protest and protests in cars. I have no issues with people going to the beach with social distance.

I do have issues when people break social distancing, endanger others, and overburden frontline workers because they want to go out and whine about staying at home.

Okay makes sense. It came across differently.

Good night. The end.
