There is a pretty good explanation of it in the Stickies. The main benefit for me was the ability to book 13 months out with points. Unfortunately there hasn't been much peak travel time inventory available at 13 months so far. I've reserved the weeks I wanted at or near the 12 month mark so I'm still happy.
Ya that's why I canceled the purchase the next day. They hooked me with the RC club access, I would mainly use it in San Francisco if available. So as I understand the RC club is not available to lowly enrolled members?
Yes I also like the RC in San Fran. However as others have also noted, check out how expensive it is in terms of points. While it's a nice location, it is on the pricey side. So you're really not missing anything.
