This saving of pennies seems ridiculous to me as well, but specfically the placemats. If you have beautiful wood tables, why would you NOT want placemats to protect the table from plates that will scratch the wood. Isn't that going to create another maintenance issue?

What about trash cans that now need extra washing because someone throws away a broken bottle of makeup, for example.

Maybe they won't even wash the trash cans.

i sent a link to the poll in my recent letter to Starwood, so if you haven't voted yet, please do. It is completely anonymous - I can't even see who has voted or how they voted. :hi:

I voted no worse then anyone else.

There are plenty of timeshare companies worse then Starwood, but being "No Worse then anyone else" is the problem. Starwood has always held a higher level of standard to me, better the Marriott....better then most chains. To fall back to being mediocre is a shame.

That's what I voted back when this poll was posted. Given how Starwood has dealt with delinquencies as opposed to how Marriott has apparently averted disaster, I think I would rate Starwood management as bottom feeders today.

There will come a time when the economy recovers, profits are restored and Starwood will once again look to expand their vacation ownership business.

They will be hard pressed to get good referrals from their existing owners. It was bad enough when they were only trying to punish owners who did not purchase from them. At this point, they are screwing everyone.

Starwood - what goes around, comes around.

Fire them? That would be tricky!

They've lost my trust! But is it too late to gain it back...Probably not, the least they could do is make the resort a bit nicer and include some of the things that others do not (beach chairs, etc) for the amount we pay. That's what we thought we were buying into...A resort that was a step above the rest.

we should have poll to evualate all the managament company's

starwood
marriott
wyndham
VRI
Trading Places
Hyatt
DVC

I have to admit that my wyndham week is an old converted fixed week in flagstaff. I dont like what wyndham is doing with rule changes but the HOA at the resort does a great job and keeps the MF down.

I am also impressed with the HOA at Island park village and Trading places does a good job managing that resort also

I agree and would like to see this poll, but with the following change: I would like to see how happy people are with their timeshare overall instead of how happy they are with just mangement. I feel that the overall ownership level of happiness and satisfaction is impacted by management effectiveness.
