We also saw a pod of spinner dolphins close to shore, but I missed getting a picture of them leaping and spinning.

DW took this picture today. I missed it because I was foraging for food at the pool bar and grill.

Exactly what we needed! The only activities we booked were dinner at the Beach House and Duke's.

We loved our stay at this resort a couple of years ago!

So far, we haven't seen any boring sunrises.

The Nene (Branta sandvicensis), or Hawaiian goose, is the official state bird of Hawaii and the world's rarest goose. I don't think I've seen one before at the Point at Poipu.

When we were there 2 years ago, there were always several pair on the other side of the wall.

Nene are more common on Kaua'i because mongooses are rare on Kaua'i. And that applies to all bird species - not just nene. If you want birds in paradise, then Kaua'i is your island. Including roosters. In some ways, rooster are the price we have to pay for having nene, cardinals, boobies, frigatebirds, and many other species on Kaua'i.

I thought this sunrise was going to be boring because of the clouds, but the sun managed to break through.

That was one boring Beautiful Sunrise. Is that an actual photo of the beach? Where are all of the people? Looks liked something from the fifties.       :)

It was before 10 AM and it was a chilly 74 degrees, so the crowds hadn't arrived yet. šŸ˜†

Does that antique telephone still take coins and what does a local telephone call costs? LOL

The last time I used one, a local telephone costs was .25 cents.

What is low season at this beautiful resort? I give my family members 18,000 HGV to use each year.

Point wise, there is no low season, just more points needed for the holidays. We usually come this time of year because it's easier to get an oceanfront (if booked a year in advance). The time between spring break and summer vacation is probably the easiest to book on shorter notice. Oceanfront usually costs 15,500 points/week.

Thanks, next year I’m going to used my points for myself.

If you're sure you won't cancel, you can book ocean view for 11,000 points and then pay a couple hundred for an upgrade. If you cancel, you can't get the upgrade back.

Thanks you for that information.
