Peloton App Question?

Hi Billy Mach, I did a quick chat on the Peloton site and they confirmed that the music will stream in stereo from the app. I used blue tooth headphones when I ride my bike (Peloton bike) and the sound is very good. I have also used the app through the roku device on my tv but using the TV speakers which aren't great so I couldn't tell. Its an awesome app!

Cornell and Snazzylass, haven't caught you on a ride yet, but I'm riding just about every day. I'm doing the Power Zones program with Matt Wilpers and I highly recommend it if you want to build your performance. The program takes you through learning about all 7 Power Zones and learning what your personal output level should be at each zone (although that is determined through the FTP tests which this program builds up to). I'm amazed at how much my stamina for longer and more difficult rides has improved in a month. Not bad for a "60's aged guy". Keep riding.

I've also been doing the sleep meditation program on my phone/ iPad at night. Very good and easy 5-10 minute mediation each night to help fall asleep, if you haven't tried it.
Thanks for confirming what I suspected with Peloton. I use LG Bluetooth headsets and it sounds Great! Ordered a Polar heart rate strap Polar OH1+ Optical Heart Rate Sensor, Bluetooth/ANT+ . I will use with the Peloton app or the Polar app on my phone.

Also thanks for pointing me to the FB groups. Already joined. As mentioned. All I need is 45-50 mins, burn 600-700 calories, drink a liter of water, sweat about a liter! I am good for the day!

Welcome !

For the moment... I might change my handle but I am using wingmanF14. wingman was taken already. I will look out for you all. But I tend to stick to the on demand classes. Don't like being tied to a schedule.
Excellent! And, same :) Laura & I found each other in an on demand class.

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Preferred card log into your account and go under benefits and it will tell you how to sign up and what the maximum credit is. I think all you need to do is under your account in the app add the chase card as your payment method.
Here is a link- https://www.onepeloton.com/digital/promotions/chase
Wow! That's a nice perk of the card - 3 mos of Peloton free!

LOL, s CC, ounds like you will have a real Spin "studio" set up soon! We put our new bike in a bedroom that we use as an office (one of the kids old rooms). Having the bike in a convenient spot (just across the hall from our bedroom) makes a huge difference in my wife's motivation to ride often! The only extra thing we added was a small fan to point at the bike while we ride. It makes a big difference!
Got to have fans! THAT is the studio experience

Billy, it sounds like you're all set. Yes, I use my bluetooth Powerbeats ear buds when I ride and the sound is awesome (and it also prevents me waking up my wife in the morning). I use the Peloton heart rate monitor which connects seamlessly whenever I turn the screen on and is fairly accurate compared to my Apple Watch which I check my heart rate on as well. I have aFib so getting accurate heart rate readings can be a bit tricky.

BTW, if you want a great class for exercising in various heart rate and power zones, I did Dennis Morton's 30 Min Intervals & Arms ride yesterday morning (11/17). I hit my highest output level and he is an excellent technical instructor. The music was ok, but I rated the class very high. You can get it on demand. Keep ridin'!

Dennis is one of my favorite instructors.

I like Denis too. I like a lot of the instructors but right now Christine is a favorite. I like Aditi for yoga and I want to do more of her yoga classes.

I followed those of you who posted your leaderboard names. Mine is veganElaine.

OK now we all need to band together and get all our timeshares to have Peloton (or compatible) bikes in the gyms :D who's with me???

I'll be looking for you! I was thinking of yoga this am. I am bone tired and needed to sign in for work soon.

Since I only T/S in Sedona where I go to hike, I don't feel the need for a Pelly, though I've thought about bringing my road bike from time to time, and I LOVE Sharon who teaches yoga and water aerobics there.

On the other hand, dear D-I-L1 says she will only stay at AirBnB's which have one.

Just wanted to jump in here and make a comment:

My nephew bought a Peloton earlier this year, and has been using it regularly. He just completed his 100th ride, which I guess is a milestone of sorts. He has done amazing with it. Between the bike, running, and good eating, has lost more than 150 pounds this year. !!! He looks and feels amazing! He has medical issues, so this is all great news for he and his family.

Hi Elaine, ahhh, so now I know who you are that started following me on Peloton. I followed you too. You have quite a streak of consecutive days working out going. Good for you!
I usually ride in the AM here in NJ before I start working so we may not get on at the same time too often (you're out west, right?). Keep up the consistent work!
I am going to try one of the Yoga classes too.

Interesting article about the “cult of Peloton” that a lot of us have become part of. But it’s a good cult!

Hello Peloton friends,

I have been sick (Covid?) for the past 6 days. UGH and today was my first day back on the bike. The absolute last thing I felt like doing but I knew some physical activity would be good for me. Did a really easy 30 min low impact ride and got a tiny sweat going (It felt good to sweat from exertion rather than a fever, LOL).

Hopefully I can get get back into this each day.

Oh no! So sorry! Hope you feel better soon...and ease back into things. I do love the scenic rides, and the yoga!

Yes! Yoga! I can't say enough about it. As much as I love a good ride, (like yesterday with Denis - the class was over before I knew it!) I am a strong believer in recovery. My dear D-I-L is a coach and semi-pro athlete. She confirmed it's okay to just ride every other day to allow time for recovery. When you get back on the bike, you will be stronger.

None of us are Spring chickens, and for me, my job is intense and long hours sitting at a key board. Lots of weekends with just a day off here and there. Monday, I was bone weary. Did a quick yoga class with Kristen. Wow! Just what the doctor ordered! And, I was thinking I needed a massage. Nope! It's crazy how allowing yourself to lay on the floor in 3 simple positions with props and lots of relaxing breathing can really take out the kinks.

Feeling a little sorry for myself this Thanksgiving. Alone and sick. But the last 2 days I've started to improve so I decided to do another easy 30 min ride today. Made me happy when I clipped in and saw @VegasBella was on the bike too. Happy Thanksgiving & what a bizarre world to be connected this way.

Hope you are feeling better very soon. It is a great community that Peloton has fostered.
I did the 45 min Turkey Burn ride with Alex this morning and there were over 35,000 riders on live. What a great instructor Alex is (my first ride with him) and so motivational and caring for aThanksgiving Day ride.

Happy Thanksgiving to all on TUG!

Brian,

I was one of the 35k today as well.
Great ride only with the weather so nice today I did out outside on the roads streaming the class on the app on my phone.
Alex brought great energy.

Lost 40 pounds since August between cycling and cutting carbs.
Although my eating today stretched my normal carb count :)

Ride on...
