Just say No! They can't force you to attend. And they cannot force you to give them the $10 or $20. It would be a cold day in hell before I forked over any of my money to them.

It hasn't happened yet, but if they ask me for $10/$20 I'm going to ask them for $20. If/When they ask me why, I'm going to tell them they will get it back IF this meeting ends up NOT being a sales presentation. :hysterical:

Just got back from two weeks at Sea Gardens followed by two weeks at Royal Vista. Got the standard parking pass treatment at SG. I find that prolonged arguments with the parking pass people just raise my blood pressure and start the vacation unpleasantly, so after briefly saying “no”, I switched to yes and signed up for the next day at 1PM. When she asked me for the $20, I refused, saying that I might show up the next day at 1PM if it was raining, but that if it was sunny, I didn't want to waste my time in the sales office and didn't want to lose $20. That was OK with her and she continued to fill out the form for the appointment. When I got to our condo, I unplugged all the phones so the sales people couldn't call me the next day to tell me how much they missed me, and proceeded to have a pleasant holiday.

Two weeks later when we switched over to RV, I got the same sales treatment at the registration desk. I gave them the same rainy day story. This time they looked up the weather and signed me up for five days later when there was a 50% chance of rain. Again they asked for my $20 deposit. I refused, saying that I did not want to lose $20 in case it did not rain. Again, that was OK with them and they filled out the appointment sheet, noting that they were awarding me the “special privilege” of not paying a deposit. Again I unplugged our unit phones and had a stress-free two weeks.
