Parenting advice - cell phones

Wow- are you guys smart parents! One thing I would add. Our local police dept came to our high school and put on an Internet safety workshop. It showed kids how (in under 20 minutes) someone can find out your name, phone, address, and a MAP of your home etc, just from a post in a chat room. Further we were shown how, from a posted digital image, someone with the proper software can determine when and where the pic was taken and other specifics. Very very creepy. You may want to check into it and see if your local authorities havge such a workshop for kids. They come to our school several times a year. Very scary stuff considering that kids assume that their "anonymity" online gives them protection.

OMG - how scary. Very good suggestion.
