Anyone ever heard of ownersaccommodation.com ? They say that I have several unused Getaways at Interval International that they can rent out. I'm not about to give them any information, but they said that they find weeks for corporate events and back end them through Interval.

I'll wager that this was a cold call? The truth is that NO ONE will cold call you to give you money! There is no one who will rent your getaways and give you money. It isn't going to happen. EVER! They will want you to send them money and you'll never hear from them- or see your money- again.

I rarely do business with anyone soliciting me. If they are good at what they do, I should be able to find them through a referral from their satisfied customers when I ask around.

All they want to do is to dig deep into your pocket and STEAL your hard earned money. Pay no attention to those thieves behind the internet curtain.

RUN away fast.

Yeah, looks like their website is pretty new and there is virtually no information anywhere on them. Thanks

Website appears to already be down. www.ownersaccommodation.com doesn’t pull anything up on my computer.

Another "red flag": corporations do not rent out timeshares, EVER! They rent out a block of hotel rooms where they're holding their convention, timeshares rarely have convention space.

All the above posters have left you no doubt that this is a scam but, just to add.... II (and RCI, for that matter) does not allow you to rent out Getaways or weeks. They are not even yours to own and hence, rent out. This is a common line that these scam companies use to separate unsuspecting TS owners from their money.

I was contacted by this group yesterday. Monica had a very convincing pitch. She forwarded me to James who listened to me reading the bad reviews on BBB, and said they had been resolved. I was willing to try one week at $399, but he said they needed a minimum of 5 weeks to make it worth their time. He said they also get paid by the timeshare companies to put new people into their sales presentations. He said they have many happy owners that are making money through this program. So, I am inviting any happy owners that have made money with this company to post here.

Anyone?

This is exactly why this scam is so successful. The posts on this thread points out why it is a scam. Deep down you know it is a scam. Yet here you are looking for validation that this is legit so you can make an easy buck. This is why these scammers create fake profiles and post great reviews so someone looking for validation can let their guard down. I’m not necessarily calling you out as there are many people who want to believe that this is not a scam. They ignore advice and red flags and proceed only to find out later that they have been fleeced.

This is likely a sham marketing company who steal money with lies and then hide behind their “we only market your timeshare” scam.

Pretty sure you wont find anybody because they are a scam. They will want that big upfront payment and then you'll never hear from them or be able to contact them again. Timeshare companies dont need other companies to get folks into sales presentations, there are enough suckers who can find their way into them on their own by being corralled at check-ins.

I have posted before about cold calls that lie about non-existent getaway weeks are actually going to be timeshare marketing companies. In looking them up, Owners Accommodations is a timeshare marketing company.

Almost 100% of these cold callers promising to rent your unused getaway week are going to be a timeshare marketing company. I am almost starting to believe that there is some dark web location where people looking for a way to steal money without being arrested can go to buy the instructions for a business model that allows them to do that. I say that because so many of these scam marketing companies are using the same exact lies on the cold call about renting your unused getaway weeks after you pay an activation fee. Those lies are used to get you to pay the upfront fee. However, what is being signed up for is to market your timeshare for sale or rent. These companies cold call all day looking for upfront fees. That is their real business. The marketing side, I believe, is only there to shield the company’s owners from prosecution. I also believe that there are no marketing activities actually being done behind the scenes.

Many of these companies claim they attend events to promote your timeshare or that they market directly to corporations. It is my opinion that those are all lies. These marketing company websites are difficult to find on the internet and they generally are not conducive to actually being able to book anything. Just generic descriptions and if one is interested they have to fill out some info just to inquire. These marketing companies claim to forward all offers to the timeshare owners but if they have 10 people with the same resort how do they decide who to send the offer to? I suspect that these companies ignore anyone who actually takes the time to inquire and if a timeshare owner complains they aren’t getting any offers the company will create fake offers that are impossible to book, such as a 4 bedroom ocean front for next week.

New marketing companies pop up all the time using the same lies. To further their scam by appearing legit they usually also create a legal entity. Owners Accommodations checks a lot of the scam boxes. They are a marketing company. The imply attending events on their website and in one of the BBB complaints they mention corporate clients wanting to book. The legal entity was filed 2/1/23 and the website was created 2/8/23 so about a year old. There are already complaints with the BBB.

There are a couple of complaints which sound like bogus offers being sent. Here is one complaint.

I received several calls from this company about renting my bonus vacation weeks. On 11/09/23 I paid Owners Accommodation $2394 for advertising 6 bonus weeks. They sent me 3 offers 60 days later, then 2 weeks later I called for an update and they told me something went wrong with all 3 clients booking. They didn't inform me of any problems until I called. Now on 1/31/24 they are telling me they have some replacement offers from 3 more clients, it's almost 90days (Now). They never call you!! The only time I received a call on 11/09/23 for payment. This is a scam!!!!!!

My final thought - If it starts with a lie everything is a lie!

I have been contacted by several companies and this agency does it right- they dont put anyone in your home resort and wont bs you, I worked with them last year to rent some of the extra vacation getaways I bought from RCI . Now RCI tried telling me I could not do it but then told me that I can let my daughter use the certificate for nothing which did not make sense so I went ahead and collected the check and rci never did anything with my membership and I have not heard back from them since then but I did rent 4 last year with owners accommodation last year.
LIES, LIES, LIES!

This company scams by lying. It is also common for the scammers to make fake profiles on forums pretending to be happy customers.

Wild guess - Longwood, FL?

I appreciate you posting this. Because of this post I found another scam advertising company using the same exact address as Owners Accommodations. That company, Resort Equity Now, started in 2019 and disappeared right around the time Owners Accommodations started cold calling with the same lies. I am going out on a limb and calling them related scammers.

Resort Equity Now has an “F” BBB rating.

Resort Equity Now was also called out as a scam on TUG back in 2019.

Something is baffling to me. In the older TUG thread I posted above, I had found that Resort Equity Now, the company that had the same exact physical address as Owners Accommodations, was related to yet another out of business scam called Premium Resort Travel. I posted that Premium Resort Travel had an F rating and 32 complaints with the BBB. I also included the BBB link. When clicking the link from that thread today, Premium Resort Travel reflects an A+ rating and zero complaints. First thought is that I must have made a mistake but I see a victim posted in 2019 to “Just Answer” and stated Premium Resort Travel had many BBB complaints.

Curious as to how this could happen, I reached out to our helpful BBB member STLBBB for an answer. I’ll post when I hear back.

I'll answer RX8's question.

The shelf life for complaints in BBB is 36 months. So, anything filed on this day will stay on that business profile until 2027. Conversely, any complaints filed against a business on this date in 2021 would fall off their record today. While complaints may not be publicly available any more, they are archived in our system and remain with the profile inside the BBB system. So, the complaint activity that led to the F rating for the business in 2019 has aged out. If we confirm a business is no longer in operation, the business grade moves to an NR (no rating) and we put a label on the page to alert the public that the business is no longer in operation.

Hope that helps.
