Thanks for the videos...much appreciated
Thanks. There will be some more from Oceana Palms and many more in the coming months as we have four timeshare stays lined up at four different resort through the end of June. I probably won't post many of them here so as not to be promoting my channel on TUG. So if you want to be sure to see them, subscribe to the channel or follow me on TUG as I think I can post new videos on my profile and those that are following me will see those profile posts. Thanks for the videos...much appreciated
Yes, pool resurfacing is well underway. The pool shown in my video that is torn up is the pool with the zero entry and kits water features. It looks like they have a lot done already on that pool and resurfacing usually doesn't take long. I suspect they will easily be completed by July 4th.Thank you for the vids
I inquired with the GM yesterday and was told that renovation of one of the pools is underway and that both should be completed and opened by July 4th.
Weather permitting.
Staff was supposed to be coming back today (June 1), though I suspect it may take them a couple days to get things stocked and running again.Any word on the on-site amenities yet (bar/grille, etc.)?
Thanks for all your efforts in the last week. Hope you had a great time!Staff was supposed to be coming back today (June 1), though I suspect it may take them a couple days to get things stocked and running again.
Thank you for taking the time to post your videos on this resort. I booked for New Years Week but I am really concerned about everything I am reading regarding most areas of pool being blocked from the sun due to the gigantic new building next door (and palm trees, although I really can't complain about those). On the other hand, the construction noise should be complete, but it may still be going on next door. I am thisssss close to cancelling. Views from your balcony look beautiful, though, but after all this quarantining I need time out in the sun! Thanks again. Thanks for the videos...much appreciated
I don't think there are issues with the new building blocking out the sun, though it may be a bigger issue in the winter when the sun is further south in the sky. It seems that the Oceana Palms Sunrise building blocking out the sun is the biggest issue. When we were there, half of the south pool had sun all day. Of course, no issues with blocked sun at the beachThank you for taking the time to post your videos on this resort. When I was there the last week of Oct, the sun at the main pool was blocked by that building at about 2 pm. However, complimentary lounge chairs are provided on the beach. There was plenty of sun until that time. Keep in mind that Daylight savings time starts in early Nov, so it would get shady an hour earlier.I don't think there are issues with the new building blocking out the sun, though it may be a bigger issue in the winter when the sun is further south in the sky. I found it intersrting that they only planned for two pools and a third, perhaps small, pool wasn't added when they added Sunset. I think there are additional challenges with a rooftop pool if it was never included in the original design. There would be many structural issues related to a rooftop pool, much more than just moving mechanicals. Water is very heavy. The lack of sun on the existing pool deck is a big problem between mid November to early March.
The issue of lack of winter sun on the pool and pool deck is being given some serious consideration. The Oceana Board of Directors are looking into a Pool Deck expansion towards the ocean and over the sand dunes to facilitate 100 or so chairs. Another alternative (though more expensive) is building a pool on the roof of the Sunset Building.
Placing the pool on the roof is likely the best but most expensive option. A rooftop pool would have great sun all year long. However, a lot of the building mechanicals currently on the roof would need to be relocated.,
Something definitely needs to be done now that the Amrit Building is a reality.

It can be very windy in Oct-Nov, so the pool is more popular on the cooler or windy days. Losing the sun in the afternoon really diminished the appeal of Oceana Palms during the cooler season. We previously went there every year for Halloween week since it opened, but now have shifted these trips to Crystal Shores.it appears from Many conversations about the issue of shade around the pools, leads me to believe that more people use the pool than the beautiful beach.....is that a correct assumption?
I called today to have my Bonvoy number added to my II trade and asked about the on-site restaurant bar/grille, and she said it would be opening on Monday the 8th.
Did you experience any problems adding your Bonvoy number to your II trade?I called today to have my Bonvoy number added to my II trade and asked about the on-site restaurant bar/grille, and she said it would be opening on Monday the 8th.
Not at all - it showed up in my Bonvoy "My Trips" page in a couple of hours.Did you experience any problems adding your Bonvoy number to your II trade?
average hi temp in NJ in Nov. is 49..average low is 37...Nov in PBeach is 81 and a low of 65.....im not too concerned about shade by the pool at 2pm..BTW..we consider Crystal Shores along with Newport Coast Villas to be the top 2 MVC properties we have vacationed at..thanks for the infoIt can be very windy in Oct-Nov, so the pool is more popular on the cooler or windy days. This will be our first trip to Oceana Palms in late October early November,we will be there on a Encore package that we purchased when we were at Newport Coast Villas last October...we have added 5 additional nights using DC points...needless to say we are very much looking forward to this vacation...had to cancel a week at the Aruba Surf Club in early April and a week at the Custom House in Boston in early May because of COVID 19.We come here every year in July, the resort is usually fully occupied, I've never had a problem finding pool chairs, no matter the time of day. The building next door did not really bother us enough to feel any changes need to be made, its also very warm when we go. A roof top pool would have to be very expensive, I would not want the cost associated with that added to my maintenance fees.
