It was close but I can understand why they could overturn the call on the field. A better question is, why are we still relying on human eyes seeing through a mass of human bodies to determine where the tip of the ball is? There has to be a technical solution to that problem.

something liked an Apple Tag should be on the football and a laser beans tracking system from goal line to goal line to track the true whereabouts of the football on the playing field. LOL

This Super Bowl game between The Eagle’s and The Chiefs should be a good game. Both teams have excellent defensive and offensive players.

They do have a chip in the ball now that provides a the NFL with a lot of information, but it isn’t capable, at least not at this time, of providing exact location matching to a specific location on the field. I have to think there is a way to do that, they just haven’t chosen to do so, yet.

The chip is only accurate to six inches so ball measurement decisions are left up to the chain gang. There are a lot of other analytics coaches can get from the chipped ball and players who wear RFID tags.
