Hi there! Newbie here to timeshare business and researching to see if it's a good fit for us. We love Vegas and find ourselves traveling here every year. Last time we stayed at the Cosmo and loved the central strip location and view of the Bellagio fountains. Since the Hilton Elara is right across the street and connected to Planet Hollywood seems like the location may be perfect for us. But what is the view you can expect from Elara? It is not a deal-breaker for us, but if there were timeshare options at this property that did face the strip and the fountains I think that would be so perfect.

thanks!

Check out the Jockey Club. It's attached to the North-end of the Cosmo. It shares the same parking garage and there is a private elevator that you use to enter the Cosmo from the JC. You would want to purchase a 2-BDRM that faces the Bellagio fountains, otherwise you would face the dreaded Cosmo wall.

We don't own there, but I trade into the JC EOY over New Years thru RCI. It's very, very, convenient. You might want to rent there next time you come to Vegas, just don't go to their TS presentation.

Just note that it is an old property, but we never had any problems staying there.

HGVC is nice and so is the Elara, but it would be cheaper to purchase a Strip or Karen HGVC TS, the purchase price is lower and so are the yearly MF's. I don't think there is any way to guarantee a view at the Elara, unless you purchase a fixed week and stay in your unit every year.

My wife and I stayed here in November and the location is indeed perfect. Not only are you centrally located but you have the attached mall with a lot of shopping and dining options. There is a nice store in the lobby as well as Starbucks. As for your main question, the view, I'd say there is a 40% shot that you'd have a view that would allow for a peak of the fountains. I'm basing that on the fact that half the building (50%) faces the wrong direction and probably the lower floors (10%) would be too low to see that far. When we stayed there we were on the 20-something'th floor and had an amazing view towards Paris and then off to the left (but through buildings) we could see the fountains and Cesar's.

As long as you're not on the lower 5 or 10 floors you're going to have an amazing view. But I wouldn't count on being able to see the fountains..........maybe in the distance.

Someone is giving away a Jockey Club with guaranteed northward view (So not staring at Cosmo's wall). Look in the Bargain Deals forum.
