New York in June and July. Yeah, no wonder there's a discount :)

Cheers.

These sales they have are always targeted to locations and times of less demand. Not surprising at all.

Kurt
Yup. Like I said- not a time folks want to be there, so a good time for a sale.

Cheers.

25% off points is a good deal if the dates work.

Same for Vegas 🤣
But…..its a dry heat in Vegas… 😊

Pretty sure nobody goes to Vegas, Palm Springs, Phoenix, and any place that’s hot and/or humid in Summer for the weather.. It’s just when the Kids are freed from school and choose to travel.

The one time I was in Vegas in June was for an internal work conference...back when I worked :)

Cheers.

Better than Orlando with the oppressive relative humidity and daily thunderstorm at 4:05 PM, which just makes it steamier instead of clearing the air like t-storms do some places.

Yup. We're headed to Orlando tomorrow and temps will be in the mid-90s. Can't even consider summer...

Cheers.

We're going to Cocoa Beach for two weeks -- like being on another planet compared to Central Florida.

We've kind of narrowed down the months we'll go to Orlando to October to April and April may drop off after a visit there in 2025.

Yeah, May is on the late side. We go again in late October. Will be better weather, for sure.

Cheers.

So is my oven

July/Aug in Orlando is the same as a lot of the East Coast. We enjoy the water park or sitting by a nice tropical pool 🏝️. But the asphalt in the parks is brutal, for sure! This summer we have 3 parks days with grandson.🥵 We have sit down lunches just to get AC for 2 hours!

I thought Hawaii was in high demand during the Summer?
I think many people are suffering from inflation. Have you seen the price of (_fill in the blank_) and it could be impacting vacation spending in real time now. Maybe a reduction in demand and the change in supply/demand.

I'm beginning to business clients shift from temporary layoffs between jobs to letting people go in the commercial construction space in LA metro but once I see shifts like this, they tend to run a bit longer.

Those same employees have families to feed and house. Rents for a converted garage are about $1,800/mo. We have a staff person who moved to Springfield, MO to buy a home and just met a successful business owner who moved from Silicon Valley Area to Kansas City (outskirts) to live a cheaper and better life. have you seen what $500,000 buy in LA or SF.. Hint: NO PLACE ANYONE WANTS TO LIVE. Simply not the case others places.

Also, I think we might be seeing a structural shift in how, when and where people will vacation at the least. Personally, I always prefer 3+ week vacations and slower travel even if I must work some of those days and remote working helps with that. I've seen younger people with kids doing this recently.

As others have stated, it’s the Airfare that can really get you… that and the crowds… if the Weather doesn’t… Might as well travel with less people, lower airfare and better weather when you can.

I was in New Oleans this week staying at another club. Temp was in the mid eighties. I'm from the south, temp was wonderful, the northern visitors were choking from the "light humidity". I told them "come back in August", body melting season!

Agreed. Which is why I'm concerned about purchasing additional timeshares. Younger people don't seem to be interested in them and I would anticipate many going into default. I don't want to be stuck with the bill when that happens.

Agreed.

I want to buy another, but don't really need one. That said I do like the mostly fixed cost and prepaid aspect of the room costs. It seems to me we spend <40% at a timeshare vs. a hotel room (food, drink, parking, etc.). With all the Bonus Weeks, Last Minute, etc. we can be just fine.

My main issue is how many weeks do we really need. We own 2 peak season 2 Bedrooms and can get about a month of time without much bother. Sure I can give away to family, but that is not a good reason to overbuy. The extra $2,000/yr on costs is a bit less desireable.

Wait until you're retired. The maths change :)

Makes sense to limit W. 57th to STP units. There are a relative buttload of those relative to other types. But nice to see it represented.

Cheers.
