Their story seems to parallel Grand Shores West that was also heavily damaged by the same hurricanes. I also believe Vacatia manages Grand Shores West too. My aunt owns there and I am a member of their Facebook Group. They too had started some roof repairs and got a stop work order from the county.

Nautical watch is the resort we exchanged into and left in the morning. We had a unit that was , I believe, built on what had been a walkway. It was absolutely awful. And that green color of the pool was the same back then. Other rooms were probably better, but the furnishings were discards from most thrift shops.

I don't see how such a structure could fulfill the 50% FEMA requirements to just repair the existing structures. Sadly, they probably need to be torn down. Owners need to look long and hard to see if the desire to rebuild is really there. The problem is that the HOA BOD and management company don't seem to be communicating with the larger set of owners.

Looks like Ground Zero!

I wonder if these timeshares, given their age, don't have 100% voting requirements in order to terminate the timeshare regimes. Perhaps they need to contact the same law firm that Wyndham is using and consider Chapter 11.

was just about to post that, seems vacatia isnt all that good at handling these situations!

Several threads out there (see discussion on The Maverick in Ormond Beach) with the common element being Vacatia's questionable management (and that phrasing is generous) of resorts damaged by hurricanes.

Based on the article and video about Grand Shores West, it seems Vacatia is putting the onus on the association to get things done. Do they even provide support when it comes to finding contractors and doing repairs? Or are they just collecting a management fee for performing day to day operations, none of which is happening right now.
