DVC - Hilton Head

They've actually done this to some degree over the years partnering at various times with Shell, Club Intrawest and Club Cordial. Obviously it'd take more broad partnerships to go this route completely. MVC would have been the obvious choice but given there tie in to II, that would be difficult currently even as a secondary player. No one in their right mind owns DVC mainly to exchange. Historically the numbers that exchange on a given year have been in the range of 1-2% and many of those were by default such as lose or use points. In many ways RCI was a better fit for DVC given their points structure.
Only exchangeable with RCI poitns in old days? anyway, I like that both DVC and MVC are pretty flexible and cost effective in booking short stays. RCI points / Wyndham / WordMark / HGVC all have hefty fees againt a short trip.

There was no RCI points early on, plus you had to deposit the home resort for DVC. I don't believe RCI points has charges for shorter stays but often the resorts themselves charge for the additional housekeeping needed. Unfortunately many of them use this as a money making venture. No additional charges though if you exchange for 7 days or more. Wyndham doesn't automatically charge for shorter stays though if you do multiple stays there are often charges. Wyndham also has a minimum stay of 3 days unless shorter term and that minimum drops to 2 days. Bluegreen is probably the most flexible system I use in many ways overall when I consider minimum stays, cost and actual chance of getting my reservation needed. Ultimately the members and/or exchangers have to pay for the actual costs of running a resort plus management and that includes housekeeping. That's why it's important to investigate ahead, that way you know if there are extra charges whether it be housekeeping, AC, parking, government fees, etc.
