More questions from a potential buyer...

With the purchase of a week totalling 7,000 points, I could enjoy more than one annual week-long trip. 4,800 pts. for my Christmas in Vegas, and 2,200 pts. for a week in a studio somewhere else. I could also further split it up into nightly reservations.
Just a heads up that the number of points required varies by resort. And not all resorts have studio units. Take a look at the HGVC Point Chart link below.

Thank you! Those links are super helpful.

I just wanted to send along a word of thanks for all of the helpful advice I received here.

As an update, my offer of $3995 on a 2-bedroom, platinum season, 7000 pts. at HGVC SeaWorld was accepted. Hilton waved ROFR yesterday. I added this information to the sticky thread and rofr.net. MF is $1,240.99. 2020 MF is paid and this year's points are still available. I feel very fortunate.

On to closing!

Nice deal .57/point with MF of .17/point. Enjoy!

I just saw this offer in eBay, I’m not interested, but seme to be cheap

The only issues I see is its odd years only and club dues for 2020 haven’t been paid, so closing costs are going to run about $1500 on top of the bid price. Its closing soon, 2 bidders, I’m going to watch it.

Update - a sniper got it for $2120.

I know this sounds crazy, but it seems like I see way more EOY odd years for sale than EOY even. I got a great deal on an EOY odd, and have been looking for more points. I would prefer even just to balance out where I pay about the same each year. Of course, “even” is one of those terms that doesn’t work very well for targeting searches.

I feel like I've seen that too. I wonder if we might see more EOY Even resales in 2021? It would be an interesting market study to see if there are more of a certain rotation available for resale on the off year than on the use year. Perhaps people try to get one more year out of their ownership before selling?

Ignoring the current unpleasantness for a moment, as both a buyer and a seller of an EOY contract you ideally want to have the transaction occur when someone can book the points they are buying. So you try to sell an odd year in fall 2019/winter 2020 and even year in fall 2020/winter 2021.

I bought my even in spring 2019, I have been noticing the trend since that purchase... I am reluctant to think there are more odds than evens. It just doesn’t make sense there would be. I notice the trend of seeing more odds mostly on eBay, and my guess is there are fewer planned/long-term strategic exits there than elsewhere.
