Marriott Vacation Club App Check-in?

I've never used the Marriott Vacation Club App to check-in, but just received an email regarding checking in on the app for my upcoming vacation at Ford's Colony. Is there any advantage to using or not using the app for check-in?

Checking in on the app can shorten (somewhat) but does not eliminate the in-person check-in experience. I think it's worth doing, at least it removes the need for them to ask you some of the questions that you can answer during the app check-in process.

If it's a simple check in - only one villa where you and everyone else in the villa is allowed charging privileges - then I expect it will make check in easier.

At KBC, I made the mistake of checking in using the app when this was not the case and it took at least twice as long as normal. Basically I entered what I wanted for our two villas and they messed it all up.

IMHO, the app check-in is something that I won't use. So - - if I use it, it'll take me a couple of minutes to use it in order to save maybe -- a couple of minutes. If the app is as good as the current Marriott app to check on future activities, it'll be a waste of time.

We’ve used it twice. It really hasn’t offered much, if any, advantage. I can’t say it’s cut any time off of the check in process.

We own with another company that does a much nicer job with online check in. They collect everything they need and all we have to do is show ID and tap the CC for incidentals. They have everything ready in a packet for us except the room keys.

With Marriott we’ve still had to go through the entire check in process. I just don’t see the point
