Try 4 or 5 days in a row at your typical Fairfield Inn. Now that is a challenge, and it’s “free”!
Yes that is more of a challenge. I do notice that full service properties have much better breakfast and longer hours. Probably because it is a profit center where at a place with a free for all breakfast is a big expense. Shorter breakfast hours and the stuff is mostly gross.

It would be great if we could start a running list of hotels which offer a hot breakfast to elite members, crowdsourcing the information.

When we stay at Residence Inn or one of the equivalent hotels and it comes with a full size fridge, we prefer to make ourselves some oatmeal instead of going down for "free" breakfast. We can no longer stomach those kind of "free" breakfast.

I have had some excellent free breakfasts before- but have also had some absolutely terrible ones as well! And yes they definitely get old after a day or two at most.

I think the worst one ever was at the Springhill Suites in Cedar City, UT. Their free breakfast was a pack of cold Pop Tarts OR a Nutrigrain Bar. One or the other; not both. They kept them behind the front desk and would only give you one. And then a cup of coffee OR a mini bottle of water. That was it.

The Facebook Titanium/Ambassador group has posts about specific hotels every day on this topic every day, or so it seems. You can join and search the posts to find what you need, and if not inquire and no doubt someone will know the answer. TUG isn't the best place for this type of info.

Based on my experience, breakfasts at anything less than a Marriott or Westin in the USA is usually not good, whereas when in Europe it's much, much better. Many hotels (especially the less expensive brands) in the USA simply don't care, as shown by their actions.

We stayed at the Sheraton Majestic in Milan Italy and excellent buffet brkfst was included with platinum benefit. Also stayed at Sheraton in Redding CA and bkfst was in the club lounge. I have stayed at many Marriotts in the last two years- courtyard, town place suites, and absolutely none have offered bkfst despite my platinum status. Often don’t get an upgrade, just the points and free WiFi. I miss Starwood so much. Points for Marriott nights are a joke.

Townplace includes free breakfast for everyone. Not just elites.

Courtyard provides a $10 daily food & beverage credit for the elite member plus one guest.
