Don't most malls attract bottom feeders?

Depends on the location. Deutsche Bank Center (nee Time Warner Center) in NYC and The Westchester in White Plains are still thriving with plenty of high end retailers and well heeled shoppers. The malls in the exurbs not so much.

MVC did divest themselves of some properties on Hilton Head, South Carolina about 20 years ago. They also parted ways with two of the five buildings at Streamside at Vail, Colorado around the same time frame.

I'm not sure if you would classify them as failing or not, however they were smaller sized resorts.
