Is Flex resale worth it?

I am a current owner of 241,000 flex options. I use them to book at the same place every year, the Sheraton Steamboat Villas. I would love the opportunity to get into that massive three-bedroom mountainside Villa in the Morningside tower but that would require a purchase of an additional 16,700 Flex options. Is it true that resale Flex options cannot be used more than eight months in advance for a reservation? I do not care if those options cannot be used in the remainder of the vistana network because I have options there as well. I am really looking to expand my Steamboat experience without having to pay the high price the developer is asking for.

Resale voluntary flex options can’t be used to book Vistana sites that are not in the flex portfolio. I believe the 8 month restriction is just that you don’t get the ability to book using staroptions which you would normally be able to do 8 months out.

But do the resale Flex options allow you to book one of the 6 Flex resorts 12 months out?
