We're heading to Welk Northstar (Truckee) just after Thanksgiving for a week. I used that seemingly "useless" AC that Interval dropped in our accounts a few months ago to book a two bedroom unit. It was $269 for the week. Sweet deal!

I've had good luck with my trades too. I have no complaints.

Oops - just realized that this was in the Marriott forum vs the exchanging forum. For recent Marriott-Interval data points, I did an instant exchange a few months ago for a Sept 2016 week into NCV using a DSVII white studio, and last Nov stayed at Waiohai using a DSVII white 1 bedroom unit. I have also had matches into Custom House (late April) and Kauai Beach Club (July) that I decided not to keep.

Appologies for reviving an old thread but it is not that old and I'd rather revive than start a new one.

Since we enrolled our European weeks in the DC back in June 2012 I have not been depositing with II and we had some good trades using DC points. However, for 2017 I decided that I would return to II with my 3 bed silver lock off at Playa Andaluza since we had always previously traded it with II. So I booked the first available week in the 2016 Silver season in November and locked off and deposited both parts for with II. My intention was to use the 2 bed master suite for a deposit first request which is stillpending 14 months out for Phuket Beach Club. The lock off is just a hotel type room really and so is notr really strong enough fpr a second deposit first request. We alsways used to use it for Flexchange uptrades. However I thought I would just look to see if there was anything on the Costa Del Sol for early December 2016 when we have a gap in our schedule and a trip to Spain for a pre-Christmas shopping week in a warmer climate than northern Europe. Much to my surprise I was able to snag a 3 bed unit at Marbella Beach Club just at the right time for week 50.

So for me there is still life in II and I just need my request for a week at PBC in Feb 2017 to come through to add to my owner weeks at PBC and the plan will have been a total success.

Was able to trade a 1br marriott week for week 52 dec 25 to jan 1 for marriott Ko'Olina two days ago. Granted that it was only two weeks out. But this is a platinum plus event week. And it would have cost 6875 destination points with a maintenance fees cost of about $3500. Forget how much it would cost to rent an oceanview 2br direct from marriott. We are definitely happy campers witn II.

This shows that last minute flex trades are definitely something to watch for. We now confirm in to the minimum unit that we can very early and then continue to watch for re-trades. If we can get something bigger, we can invite more people or have more room for ourselves.

I got my Ko Olina Dec 18-25 1 br filled about 5 months ago and a second one about 2 months ago. A studio 25-1 came through about 2 months ago too. Manage to retrade one of the 1 br for a 2 br but still looking to upgrade the studio to a 2 br for 25-1.

I think the II system still works good, but it does seem availability online is closer in time wise and the bulk deposits are not as far out as before in dates. All in all, getting holiday dates has still been possible every year in Hawaii for the past 5 years.
