Just got my notification that my trade of a Studio DSV I Red week traded for a 2 bedroom at Waiohai in mid January...I placed my request in about three months ago and it just hit yesterday...about 80 days out but still plenty of time to plan. I just can't seem to pull the trigger on trading my units for points even though I joined when it was offered a few years ago. Still happy trading with II. :whoopie:

This is a real stunner of a trade, especially since it is not in Flexchange. Enjoy your good fortune. I know someone who a year or two ago had a 1BR Ko Olina on deposit with II for 9 months trying to get Waiohai and the trade never came through even though he was very flexible on dates.

Congrats! We're putting in a request for Waiohai in 2017 -- exchanging our MOC. Our dates are pretty limited, so I hoped that a request that far out would get us the exchange.

II is alive indeed! We were confirmed this week for Ko Olina mid January 2016. I know there has been much discussion regarding resorts honoring unit designation on confirmation. My confirmation has a HTBOV, which I believe is a ocean view. Do you guys think they will honor this code?

We were there in mid October. Had a two bedroom non lock off Oceanview reservation through interval. It was honored. We had a great Oceanview in the Naia building. Good luck!

I guess you've seen this:

As of December 1st, 2015, the Marriott Vacation Club internal exchange fee with Interval International will be $129 USD* (web transactions) and $139 USD* (phone transactions)

I’m happy to hear someone else is doing well with their Marriott exchanges. We've had a blue season Desert Springs II week for almost 20 years and we are still getting great exchanges with II. We have always locked it off and exchanged each half of the unit. We have never stayed in anything less than a one or two bedroom unit for the studio. We are very flexible with our exchanges and we could not be happier with our Marriott. :)

II is certainly doing well for me. I was offered an A/C if I deposited a Phuket Beach Club Week for period 1st Jan 2016 to 20th April 2016. Now normally by this time f yer there would be no availability and my weeks would have been booked for use. BUT next year we are only using 2 weeks so I had been holding a week to book for Dec 2016 and then deposit with II. However I found a Jan 2016 week available with a TDI of 150. So booked and deposited.

Today I found the A/C in my account at II, and was able to book a week at Marbella Beach Club for early May 2016 and used my deposit to reserve the immediately prior week at Marbella. So my PBC week has got me two weeks in a 2 bed unit at Marbella at just the right time for us.

So yes, II is still alive and kicking.

That is an excellent use of an AC. Lots of lead time on a great resort. I don't get as many of those AC as I used to. By the time II decides to offer them I've generally reserved and deposited my weeks. They sure can be a good benefit.

This morning, with an MGR 2 bedroom portion of 3br, I was able to see (on instant exchange) Jan/Feb Maui MOC and Napili units (1br and studio), Kauai beach club 1br and several other premier properties.

I'm looking for a specific check-in day for a 1br or better, so I didn't trade, but clearly--finding peak (Feb) season Hawaii units in open trading is pretty darned good! I thought about calling and asking for 2 weeks in a 1br under XYZ just to see if I could win the lottery (I'm sure not).

II is not dead, but running strong IMHO.

I think it is the difference between a type 1 and a type 2. Type 2 is where you are trading down in unit size, you should be able to get a second unit so the total of your two units match the private sleeping capacity of your initial deposit.

I have asked for type 2 and was told not possible for hawaii trades. I have asked about a type 2 xyz since i only got a 1br for a 2br and was told they do not offer xyz for hawaii locations. I even have mentioned that i wanted the type 2 not type 1 xyz and was denied. Now it's choose 2 instead of xyz type 1 so it at least clears up some confusion when speaking with a rep.
If you are successful or not in getting a type 2 for a hawaii exchange please poat back the results. I am definitely hoping you get it as it would work for me.

Don't hold your breath, but I'll definately report back. Not going to try this time...I have Waiohai and WPOVR for two weeks. Maybe next year though: we're going to try and trade the Waiohai.

I have a request in for a week in May for Grande Ocean with a 1bd July 4th week at MSE. It hasn't come through and not sure it will :( We shall see. But since this is a destination club unit, I didn't have to pay a fee :)

I am glad to hear others are having luck trading also. I was very flexible with my trade. I had provided about 8 different weeks from Jan-March and at 4 different Hawaii resorts. I was getting a call from them about every other week telling me they are working on it....and did I want to add other options. But I just held firm knowing that if I didn't hit I probably could get something during flex change when I wanted it. Booked my flights last week so we are ready to go. $564 from Los Angeles which was pretty good and direct flights to Kaui.
