I said no for several reasons, some of which others have listed on this thread. Also, ingredients, side effects. etc.

I do not get the flu shot either.

Thanks. I understand and respect your decision.

Yes. However, I hope I don't get the same reactions as I got when I had the first series of the shingles vaccination. Fever and chills for 24 hours!
I was lucky and had no side effects from the shingles shots. Dh got the flu like symptoms. My sil opted not to get the shots as they were going on a trip and she didn't want to risk the potential side effects. She got shingles. I think she'd go with the side effects if she had it to do over again.

Yes, I will get the vaccination. We are working on getting the antibody test for both of us. But i still like the idea of the vaccination, but tent to get most or all vaccinations available / recommended for me. I do the flu shot every year. I just finished my Shingrix series in early Feb. For travel i have done malaria, yellow fever, Typhoid and probably more..

I may not be the first person in line to get one, but will do so after it has been around for a few months. I get the flu shot every year, with gratitude, because of the number of deaths illness causes. I do understand the fears some people have. My mother was one of those people who got very sick from the swine flu vaccine, which was caused by her unknown allergy to eggs, the medium in which it was cultured.

I am on meds that suppress my immune system. Only way to live without constant pain. So it does restrict what I can and can't take.

I can take NO live virus. So new Shingles is OK, old shingle is bad. Flu is OK. The old typhoid tablets are OK, but the new vaccine is a NO. Problem is finding the old typhoid tablets are near impossible. Hep A/B shot is OK.

So it all depends on what exactly is the vaccine. I usually have to clear it with my Rheumatologist first.

It depends. I didn't do too well with the shingles vacine. I ended up ackey with a rash and had to see the doctor. So I'm not going first.

The percentage of people who would refuse taking a vaccine is shocking.

Count me in that third and think of this way - makes the inventory more available for those who want it.

Not anti-vaccine, but not all are not created the same :) From what I hear about this one, it's not for me. And, from what I hear about the Flu shot, I'm done there, too. I made huge adjustment 3 months ago in my diet and part of it is designed to improve my immune system.

There are 2 other things I know: 1. we are all going to die, and 2. my dad is 84 and has been going to work every day. Essential services, construction. Not saying his business is thriving through this, but it's just not his style to do otherwise. He's not wearing a mask, but my mom does.

No! I don't get a fly shot either. I am 70 and take my vitamins and probably do OD on C! I get plenty of exercise and watch what I eat.

It's a big maybe for me and not right away at any rate. I like to see the long term pros/cons of these things. It was years before I started getting the flu shot. I only started getting that because there are so many people who sneeze and cough all over the place without regard to their surroundings. If we have a new normal where sick people don't distribute their phlegm all over the place, I probably won't get a Covid or a flu shot. Since I still see people in public who cough without any attempt to cover their mouths, I am not holding out a lot of hope.

I have the same problems, but I received the old Shingles shot at the advice of my doctor because I was about to start my autoimmune therapy. I did have to delay the start of therapy. Had to fight with my insurance to get reimbursement, but they finally covered it. That was eight years ago and I was 62 at the time.

Would I get a covid-19 vaccine shot? Yes I would after consulting with my doctor.
