Update: They are advising me that because my Craig lodges were purchased AFTER April 2022 I have been enrolled in Max. I am currently given Premier status in Max, but if should be premiere+ based on the points I purchased. They are remaining firm on this. I've requested a Manager call me because even if this is the stance they are taking I should be premiere+. This all changed on me 14 months after my Craig purchase and once I added bHC points in NYC (resale purchase on the cheap).
Well, I have bought some last year and this year from Craig Lodges with no change to Max, so that isn't it. I do know another person who bought more Craig and a few months later he became Centum so it happened to him also but he had well over 100k of elite qualifying points. It may be the NYC resale that caused this, not Craig, if that was your latest purchase. Do all your elite qualifying points add up to P+? Obviously, there is the other person that they did this to and she had them switch back to EP. They did it for her so it can be done.

It was certainly the NYC purchase that triggered this without a doubt. My Craig purchases are enough points for P+. If they put me in max with P+ then I will stand down. Until then this is being pushed up the chain.

Are you calling the bHC AI phone number? (Is that the group telling you?)

No. I called the EP line. What is their phone number? I can try them too
I would use the contact us page in your HGV portal and send an online message. That can be forwarded to a corporate person versus the phone folks.

Two thoughts.

1. I don’t really believe this.

2. If true, it is the end of buying Craig to get elite status in the legacy system.

It is a system glitch. We bought some last year and this year but are EP

I’ve had no luck switching back. I spoke with a supervisor today and they assured me that they have escalated the IT issue. For what it’s worth, closer to having my benefits restored - I can now book for free and get free upgrades which is an improvement.

Update 2: I was advised today there is no switching back. My case is closed and I’m stuck with Premiere under HGVMax. I asked for my matter to be escalated again and they advised I’ve reached the end of escalations.

I guess I have to decide if I want to pursue legal action.

Send an email to top leadership like Barbara Rinks and Mark Wang.

The other option is to raise a stink about how you can buy resale and get in Max on social media

Call back in and ask to speak with a shift supervisor. Wait on the line until they come on and very respectfully walk them through how disappointed you are and what you expect to be done. Then specifically ask that the shift supervisor open a case with the resolutions team (a different team than customer service). After they do that, respectfully ask what the next level of escalation is if you don’t have a satisfactory outcome within the next week. Write this down and make sure to call back in a week and ask for this in a week.

I guarantee there is an escalation path all the way to the CEO, but it’s probably not used that often.

I second to contact Barbara Rinks. She has was very responsive and helpful when I had an issue in the past that couldn't get past the front line. At a minimum you need to be Premier+ with your transition based on points. If not, you need a clear explanation why.

Something is amiss and I suspect it is an IT glitch. Why else are sales citing that you cannot get into Max without a $25k min (based on another thread) and you are getting this with resales for "free."

I’ve been told specifically it’s an IT glitch. For what it’s worth, i show max, but seem to get my premier benefits, including free upgrades, free reservations. I haven’t tried converting points or adding a guest yet. I think this would be the best of both worlds, but I don’t see it lasting.

I’m limited to 4 guest certs and no more HH Diamond status or Lyft credits.

I was told it’s not an IT glitch. It’s been escalated to the top. We will see what they say.

Just got off the phone with them. They opened a case for me however the agent advised that his membership support team was saying that because I purchase Craig lodges directly from Hilton, they have the right to push me into Max. I call BS on that so we will see what happens with the case being opened.
Perfect! I'll tell them to move me to Max based on my Coylumbridge purchase from February 2022!

You have not. Consistent with the club rules, your next level of escalation is arbitration. Arbitration is free for you, and will cost a lot of money ($1000+) by HGV. So download the rules, find the arbitration clause, and follow it. I bet, before they go to arbitration, someone very high up the foodchain in HGVCorp will look at it again, and resolve it in your favor, or go to arbitration ONLY if they believe they have a clear case to win AND it will cost them more in the long run to keep you in HGV legacy elite tiers than in HGV Max elite tiers.

There has been a change to the behavior on my account. I can add unlimited guest certs, and I no longer get charged for making reservations. I appear to be in some sort of limbo where I appear as max through the portal, but the backend/billing treats me as Elite Premier. When I book a reservation I get the popup asking if I want a free upgrade as an elite premier. I haven't tried converting points to honors, so no clue whether that works.

It sounds like you are in Max, getting the benefits, but also getting the EP benefits that are not implemented in Max yet. I have heard similar things from others that changed from EP to P+ or Centum.

I don’t keep up with the Hilton forum much but I own only resales at Boulevard, w57, residences NYC. My dashboard shows HGVMax when I log in. Is this good or bad and why? Can someone point me to a thread that explains the background of what the pros and cons are.

It really depends on your scenario. For me, it is bad because I purchased my resale points from Hilton's Craigendarroch which makes the points qualify for the elite premiere program (legacy). There are a ton of benefits that elite premiere members get. When they transitioned my account to HGVMax, those benefits went away. Now we are in a fight to get them back.

If you're only resale, then it's very good, as you can access the new DRI inventory 6 months out, which is great.

Have you looked at the 2024 fees for HGVC Legacy Members (specifically guest certificates)?
