I was HGVC EP member. I just recently purchase NYC Residences Hilton Club via resale. Today the HGVMAX logo appears and my EP status is nowhere to be found on my log-in page or attached to my profile. Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve never stepped foot into a sales presentation. I’ve never purchased retail.

This is a known issue. You need to contact HGV and ask them to put you back in Legacy EP and request to be a non-Max owner. A few others have had the same issue.

Yup. I’m in the same boat. Apparently it’s an IT issue.

Does anyone have an email address to use for this issue?

I would call the elite line
Just got off the phone with them. They opened a case for me however the agent advised that his membership support team was saying that because I purchase Craig lodges directly from Hilton, they have the right to push me into Max. I call BS on that so we will see what happens with the case being opened.

Email the Head of HGVC. Or better yet pay a few dollars to an Attorney and have the Attorney email them.

That isn't true. I have bought Craig Lodges directly from Hilton in January and in September and I am not in Max. The person from FB only has retail and has not bought anything recently and it did this to her also...it is a system issue, not a purchase issue. They can fix it.

Crazy because HGVC Max documentation has stated the following:

Persons who purchase an ownership interest at a Hilton Grand Vacations resort from an HGV Max authorized sales center and join Hilton Grand Vacations Club after launch of HGV Max shall automatically receive HGV Max benefits.
Craig Lodges is NOT an HGV Max Authorized sales center.

Did you receive a MAX elite level when they moved you to MAX? or did you fall to the bottom tier?

The only caveat is that it is from an Elite qualifying property and if it was a Hilton owned week versus a resale for an owner, it could make a difference. That has been my concern about the last ones that we bought. The previous ones were sold to us by HGV UK but they were being sold for other owners. The last ones we bought weren't and were owned by HGV so the paperwork was a little different. They have not switched us but it did concern me that they might.

Whether accurate or not, it's truly sad that they've rolled out a new program and they "have the right" to push people into it against their will. Like it's a downgrade/punishment. Oh wait...it is...

Cheers.

We do not know what Max tier the OP was moved to. Possibly not a downgrade but equivalent.

@JimmyQ @Lodemia can you please share what Max Tier you were transitioned to?

Certainly puts a chill on wanting to make any more purchases or upgrades if that attitude was shared by the CSR.

It appears I have Premier tier. But based on the number of points I purchased at Craig I should be Premier+.

It’s a mess. I’ll follow up once I hear more.

I just don’t want to be limited to 4 guest certificates a year.

$7,000 to join MAX in 2022. Now people are getting free BG access as a gift for the holidays!

Maybe HGV isn't meeting HgvMax upgrade goals. ;)
I think this is true but I think it is probably a system thing. Their system has to be a mess right now with all the different ownerships and programs.

Are you thinking that HGV might also be confused? (ie. HGV, HVC, HGVC, HC, HCNY, bHC, aHC, Legacy HGVC, Legacy HGVC with HGVMax, HGVClub with HGV Max, The Club, The Club with HGV Max, Embarc, Legacey HVC, HVC with HGVMax, HGVC Embarc, Extraordinary Escapes, Extraordinary With HGV Max)

I'd hate to imagine the training their CSRs must go thru.
If it were me, I'd have that deer-in-the-headlights look.

At the top of the list of responses would be:
"That's an issue that's been referred to our IT team."
.

Well...they could provide the standard AMEX CSR response:

"We will submit your case and you should check your account in 4- 6 weeks to see if it is resolved."

"Oh you want us to notify you? Well it does not work that way. You will need to check whether it was resolved in 4-6 weeks."

"Oh you want to know what happens if it is not resolved? Well, the ticket will have been closed by our team, but you are welcome to contact us again and we will be happy to open another ticket. You can expect to hear back in another 4-6 weeks..." :wall:

Sounds like what happened with my Chase card. I had a bait and switch order, return tracking, and email from the vendor admitting that they owed me a refund, but didn't feel like processing it yet. Chase turned a $725 charge into two disputes of $575 and $150, then sided $275 and $150 with the vendor. One might think they threw $300 in my favor, but no, they just made a confusing mess. I was told twice that they made mistakes and would submit my case, but I never heard anything back.

Update: They are advising me that because my Craig lodges were purchased AFTER April 2022 I have been enrolled in Max. I am currently given Premier status in Max, but if should be premiere+ based on the points I purchased. They are remaining firm on this. I've requested a Manager call me because even if this is the stance they are taking I should be premiere+. This all changed on me 14 months after my Craig purchase and once I added bHC points in NYC (resale purchase on the cheap).
