Hulu Is Shutting Down Its Streaming Platform and It’s All Because of Disney+

Interesting news. We have been using HULU Live for a few years and have been happy with it. We will see how things change going forward.

I was wondering what happened. Our Hulu required multiple log in attempts to finally get in. Once in, it didn't work because of our VPN.

I stream through DIRECTV and We were told a week ago that the signature plans are getting access to ESPN dtc, Hulu, and Disney+ shortly. This fall will also see Peacock added. Streaming is definitely consolidating.

As a Hulu Live subscriber, hopefully this leads to a better mobile app. The current version is awful.

It was never going to work out with everyone trying to run their own. I also really wonder how many people "need to see shows first run" with the fragmentation. Many I see buy a month once a year, catch up on the 2 or 3 shows they care about on that service, and cancel till next year. Cable only pulled IMHO because you didn't have the on demand back catalog.

Others like me just don't watch enough TV at all to buy any, and sometimes watch a stream at a friend or family members house. Then again, we never paid for cable either.
