So after negotiating with Hilton we told them we wanted 2 years of maintance fees paid. Which we were under the impression was $1128.60 per year so we asked for $2400. They agreed then we asked them to send us our actually maintance fee bill which we have never received. It was for $4200! When asked why they said that since we are a biannual year we had to pay 2 years the first year so in August we were billed (which we didn't receive) for 2024 and 2025.Then we have another invoice due in January for 2026 dues. I told them we were not aware of that so I want them to cover the entire outstanding amount. The gentleman said he will present my offer and get back to me within a few days. He called me back immediately and said they just received my complaint from the Attorney General that I submitted. They asked why I would do that when we were in negotiations. I said that was submitted over a month ago and I thought that is why they reached out to come to a resolution. He said no they just got it today. He said Hilton is pissed so will not negotiate more with me. Either I take the $2400 and be done or they get their lawyers involved and they will deal with the attorney general. Do I take the $2400 or take my chances? I am just afraid that everything has been a lie up to this point what am I gong to face next when I have no recourse because I've taken their deal? On the other hand I can not afford to have my credit ruined because we are moving out of state next year and will need to buy a house. What are my chances of getting anywhere with the attorney general on board?

To the OP,
We also own ours after a sales presentation and have learned to make it work. As you bought retail, you do have Max exchange to access to the HVC (former diamond) resorts and there is one in Greece, but I know nothing about it or its availability, though I assume that it is probably a bit challenging to book at only 6 months out. That said, travel without school schedule restrictions will make availability better if you visit places in the shoulder season. For example, I did go to Greece many years ago in October and it was fantastic and we still had warm ocean water to swim in. With the credit card, you may have enough points to book Hilton hotels in Greece with the honors points where you stay 4 nights and get the 5th free. This might adjust your travels some, but it could be a way to make it work. I'm sorry for your frustration, and I do hope it works out for you to get released from your contract, but otherwise, learning how to use it is not a bad way to go for a while. Maybe it'll be better than your previous experience. Good luck!
We are traveling on the off season as it is for my daughters high school graduation present and she is not going to college. There are no Hiltons on the islands we are going.

Unfortunately, now that you are past the recission period, you don't have a lot to use to exit the contract, unless you have the things you feel are lies in writing or recorded. There are others who have come to TUG too late to act under the recission rules. So now, it might be best to take the MF credit and learn how to use the system so that it works for your particular style.

The HGVC system is actually quite good, once you learn how to use it. There are lots of us on here, ready and willing to help with that and to answer your questions. We all travel differently, so there is likely more than one member who may have a travel style similar to yours.

Maybe start by explaining what you thought you were getting, versus what you now understand you have. It may not be as bad as you fear. Plus, if you tell us a bit about your travel style, hopefully we can make some suggestions on how to make the most of what you have.
I agree totally with what Canuck Travir is saying. Maybe the system can work for you.

I own 10000 points every other year. I don’t understand what you mean by WHERE do I own. I have callled HGVC numerous times to ask this and they are as confused as I am. I don’t own anywhere I just own points in HGVC.

How many points do you own and where? I'm in the market for a secondary market HGVC timeshare. Looking for 11000 points and up.
I only have 10000 points every other year.

yes

HGVC is a deeded property. So if you own on the HGVC side, you will own at particular resort in a particular room side and usually a specific season {for example, Valdoro Mtn Lodge, 3BR platinum winter ski season} (your MFs are also based on the property that you own). This forum is for HGVC and HC (Hilton Club). If you own trust points in a specific collection (such as HI or US collection), then you bought into HVC (Hilton Vacation Club), formerly DRI. There is a different forum for HVC. I suspect that you were sold trust points in HVC.
So I have asked the rep I am working with at Hilton. He said we own points in HGVC but do not have a specific week only points.

To give you a better understanding, HGV is the company. It owns HC, HGVC and HVC. HC and HGVC are deed based ownership and HVC is point based trust. HC and HGVC is one group. As a max owner, HVC owner can exchange into HC and HGVC within 6 months of the checkin date

Thank you for that!!! I am lost about your last sentence? What does that mean and how do we do that?

You don’t need to do anything, the HGV site should populate all locations available for booking. Check your account search for Elara in Vegas, you should see it. If you plan to visit a HGVC property on June 1st, the earliest time you can book is Jan 1st.

Since you own trust points in HVC, I am going to change the title of this thread and move it to the HVC forum.
