I saw this news as well. It was the one of the other idea Hilton management discussed at the last investor meeting.. Reit conversion and timeshare spin off. Many of the investors are pressuring them to do one or both of these changes. Not sure they are really linked but at least one of the two has come to pass... I would guess there there is a better than 50% chance they will spin-off HGVC at some point in the future.
