I found the following in the declaration for the Grand Islander... section (b) is the relevant one.
If you have a Floating Unit / Fixed Time or Floating Unit / Event Time deed (pretty sure there are no floating unit / fixed time at GI), then by canceling your automatic week, it converts to a regular floating / floating and you can book in your season and unit type as a home week.
The problem with the Penthouses at GI is that they are Fixed Unit / Fixed Time. And the declaration only allows floating the Floating Unit / Fixed Time deeds to other weeks.
This is kind of madness, as the penthouse units cost a premium in price and MF. No idea why they wouldn't allow you to float a penthouse unit, when you can float any of the event weeks (Christmas / new year) in the lower floors.
