I noticed a 3 night tour of Diamond International for $249 in Sedona. I am wondering what other HGV owners think of the idea. Of couse I will say "no", but learning more about one of their resorts as a learning process to th future integration seemed like a good idea. However, before I book it I thought I would check with other who could either save me from myself or agree that it might be a good idea.

Maybe I would buy used if having Some Diamond points would be useful????

The visit might be worth the discounted $249 vs. renting. But say "no" in the preso because too many things will change with HGVC. The reps could lie and say they know when they don't. You might get access to DRI properties with your existing HGV points without buying Diamond because HGV has spoken about a common currency. This may be much less expensive and less hassle than buying DRI. Let the dust from the acquisition settle.

IIRC, DRI restricts resales to home club use only?

They restrict to home collection on resales. Unless you own a legacy deed at a particular resort, they are pure trust points.

I want a fifth choice:

□ It is unlikely salespeople will give you accurate information, so just wait until official information is sent out to owners

Kurt
You are correct. Let me add that shortly

Added the choice. I am so glad I posted this note for all the great feedback.

Quite possible for DRI. I do know that all the NYC salesweasels we've had (as well as all other conversations I overheard) were factual. Maybe overplayed on some aspects, but true :)

Cheers.
