Yes, it needs to make sense for each use case. For us, we never have either but nice to have that free option, in course we cancel. We usually book out the year and into the next year using all current year points then borrow next year points with the thought of just cancelling what we don't decide not to use, for instance, we have a month booked at Vilamoura but don't know what we will actually use. It is in November and a mix of this year and next year points. If we wait until the fall to cancel, then we may end up with 2025 points again but not worried about it because we can save for free. We usually use about 3 or 4 guests certs per year but now that our older son is getting to the age of using these, we may use more for him.bHC AI has free reservations which is the most important to me
Never save but always borrow points
Bad use of points to convert to HH
Only wife and I so no use of guest certs
Lyft credit is doable
Have never used open season once in 16 years for a room for friend
Unit upgrades seems interesting
Get Diamond HH with Aspire card
So for my use, EP perks would not get me to go out and buy Scotland to get status. Now if I started from no HGVC ownership, I would probably buy Craig for the EP status from the get go. Just doesnt make sense when we already own in HGVC.

We have used the whole Lyft credit each year and get unit upgrades about half the time but it depends on where we stay. For instance, if we are at OO and have an OF unit, then there is no upgrade for that.
We have booked one of the Mexico properties a year out so that is nice.
Still need to explore The Registry properties more though. They have some near Kruger main l national Park in SA which is of interest.
